I love that part so damn much. Rufus is such a badass, and he always knows exactly what he can say to have the most effect.

So when Reno and Rufus told Cloud where Kadaj went, they were sending him into a trap.

Why does that movie suck so much at telling its own story!?

What? Shinra wanted Cloud to kill Kadaj, what trap?

I wouldn't call it a trap. I mean, Cloud knew he was riding into their base and he must have anticipated that they expected him since they took Marlene.

A Trap doesn't stop being a trap if you have no choice but to spring it. What was Cloud supposed to do, tell Tifa and Barret 'Nah, no rescue mission for me, I might get hurt?'

he has a bandage round his head (presumably serving to hold back his hair) and she has a bandaid on her cheek, and that's it. I get it that they were probably Cured - but what I don't understand is, why does she still have a bandaid on her cheek? What was so terrible about the cheek wound that Cure couldn't heal it, even though it healed everything else without leaving a scar? I don't believe they have more injuries hidden under their suits. They couldn't run like that or fly off rescuing Rude and Reno if they still had broken bones and torn ligaments and ruptured hernias and whatnot. That bandaid just bugs me so much.

It means they're cartoons. They're using animation language/shorthand to say they are recovering. But I think it's odd that it would be in a CG movie like that. And then even moreso, that it's not consistent at that. It's not like they're drawing # marks on Cloud's face to show he got beat up.

A fair point, though that is exactly what Cloud was doing, only it was "No rescue mission for me, I might get somebody else hurt." The Turks backed Tifa up on getting Cloud to get his ass in gear and told him that he was the one going.

In any case, "sending him into a trap" implies a number of things that don't apply here. Namely, that Reno and Rude expected/hoped for Cloud to lose.
