Xbox 360 - Good RPG?

Since I am departing from PS3 and from MGS4 and FF12,13 style gaming, can anyone recommend a decent RPG for the Xbox?

I have been reading that Mistwalker's Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are good solid alternatives, and adhere to classical ATB formats.

I haven't been gaming as much in recent years and anyone's help is appreciated, especially those people who disliked FF12 and MGS4.

and no this is not a baiting thread, I have no time for that. It is a serious genuine question. I do not want any more disappointments. I paid a lot of money for the PS3 and am now paying the price for buying it purely for 2 titles. My fault.

I am checking mass effect now. Keep the suggestions coming.

Mass Effect series. Might as well go ahead and put that out there. Lost Odyssey, Last Remnant, and Infinite Undiscovery are worth a playthrough as well.

I would also say Fable II, but alot of people I know didn't like it. >:

But yes, avoid Eternal Sonata like the plague.

Fallout 3, if you're into Western RPGs and shooters. Else, Oblivion, although you'll probably want the PC version for the mods and updates and the like.

Mass Effect 1 and 2, Dragon Age Origins, Fallout 3, and Tales of Vesperia are the best rpg's so far on the 360. I wish my 360 didn't rrod. I had 3 full me1 saves ready for me2 with every achievement in the game... and a nearly completed achievement list in vesperia.

Also I would suggest picking up kotor and jade empire from the original xbox. Both are still pretty damn fun today and you can play them on the 360.

Oblivion and Fallout 3 too, but especially Dragon Age should only be played on a PC, imo. Consoles just don't do them justice.

And, just by the way, look into Demon's Souls on PS3.

Yeah Demons Souls is a fantastic RPG, but if you're a pussy don't play it.

And yes, DA belongs on PC. Hell I'd say play ME2 on PC instead of console.

I loved it personally, closest thing to a next gen Berserk we got.

Yeah, Tales and Lost Odyssey are both really good, and so is Star Ocean.

Borderlands is also great, if you're into Fallout-type games.

I'd play Fallout 3 again just to go through the flashbacks/flashforwards/whatevers again. That shit was hilarious.


I'd like to say, though, if you're going to play Lost Odyssey, it can be a very long game. It's not ATB, it's good ol' fashioned turn-based. And has Nobuo Uematsu absolute fucking genius.

Last Remnant had a trippy system.

Infinite Undiscovery and Borderlands are my recommendations that have already been mentioned. Highly recommend the Zombie add-on for Borderlands, it was a lot of fun.

Also, Lost Odyssey is really, really awesome. I totally recommend it, it's four discs.
