SE has spent all this time milking the public for money in any way, shape or form with the Compilation. Dirge of Cerberus, which many predicte would be epic fail and decided to get it anyway to prove whether or not it would be. Crisis Core, which, wasn't epic fail and sold quite well with the public. Boost sales and moolah? olook, it's a custom PSP shiny silver and everything.

Before Crisis, which turned out to be epic fail for those who couldn't carry it on their cellphone providers, but still those who coul get it, did.

Advent Children, and thus... Advent Children Complete, COMPLETE with (hahpun) it's own PS3 to help boost moar sales. Though this is due to failing sales on the PS3 market.

So with so much being sold in the compilation, edits and additions and limited editions... Why wouldn't they just remake the original game? That would probably sell more than all these other games and movies slammed together. Or do you think that they're just pulling that whole.. delayed satisfaction crap with it by making us wait?

I suppose that could be the reason. But really they've said several times the reason FFVII hasn't been remade yet is because they simply don't have the time or manpower to do it. Everyone else is doing separate more important projects.

Well, who exactly has left from the original team? All I know (for some reason this stuck) is that Uematsu's gone. They don't need every single person back, do they? I mean, sure before they've stated that they'd neeed a 300 manpower team and a few years to make it, but surely it would be worth it?

Well there's of course Sakaguchi who's gone...but yeah, most of the main team members are around but they're simply too busy. S-E is already busy like muppets on crack trying to finish their current plate now. XD

Nomura, Kitase and I think Nojima have their hands full focusing on FFXIII. And of course, a main installment in the FF series is more important than just a remake.

PS3 sales aren't failing.

They've increased with steady moment in past year.

What bull. Everyone has their own console these days. Frickin Xbox360 is getting a bundle with RE5. Not because the console's sales are failing.

Y'know I'd have to disagree on that bit about a new installlment being more important than a remake. This is fricking FFVII. There are millions of people all with diverse reasons to get this, to see if it will fail, hold up to it's good name, be improved, with Aeris live... So many unanswered questions. D;

PS3 sales may not be failing, but they're certainly not as good as they could be.

True, but hadn't the PS2 outsold the PS3 in nearly all the years that the PS3's been out? Except for 2008 I think...

I'd rather have a new main series game than a FFVII remake. The only reason I'd even care about a remake would be if they fixed the horrible translation of the original, and you don't even need a remake to do that, you can just do that with a port.

That said, FFXIII looks boring, but FFVII doesn't interest me much these days anymore either. Then again, my interest in console gaming is almost nonexistent these days anyway.

With how long they've taken to release so far ust a demo for XIII, no real voice acting or hardcore game play semantics, I dunno... imo, alot of people would have gotten bored at this point waiting for it.

It never particularly got my interest in the first place. I find Nomura to be a very uninspiring designer, and we haven't seen much apart from his designs yet.

The Ps2 has been outselling both the ps3 and 360. The ps2 has been king since the beginning of this generation :monster:

It would be nice for a remake imo. Milking the series just pisses me off more.

Ever notice all the FF's have an army usually chasing after them.

FF7 - ShinRa
FF8 - Gal. Army
FF9 - Alexandria Army
FF10 - Yu Yven

I don't know most of the armies before FFVII, but there seems to be a pattern. >.>

and btw FFXIII looks like crap and seems like more emo JP crap.

But thats my opinion, don't take it too offense please.

FF1- nada.
FF2- Empire, but they largely ignored you.
FF3- nada. You run into a country in the midst of civil war, but this is a minor point
FF4- You're trying to pre-empt and assault rather than run from.
FF5- Exdeath's army, I suppose, but they're not all that present a force.
FF6- The empire of Vector, but that plays itself out halfway through the game.

Because the more Compilation games they make the more subtle hints of a remake they can leave, keeping the prospect of a remake alive within the fanbase = $$$.

Nu armies in my FFVII irony thread. D;

For a remake, it just seems like a colossal waste of time to be making all these other little nit-picky games which are easily a hit or miss. Dirge being a miss, Crisis Core being a hit. >.> If they could just arse themselves long enough to bring back the crucial members of the original team and then hire a buttload after that, devote a few years to it (come on, how many years has XIII gotten so far :duhard:) it could sell quite well. What with FFVII's fanbase already so large, the people who played it 10 years ago will pick it up and new gamers who heard about the hype will probly check it out.

SQUARE, HEAR MY PLEAS. FUCKING GIT ON IT ALREADY.

To be quite honest, if the original FF7 was ever remade, I'd probably care a whole lot less about any future compilation titles the may have in mind.

So I dunno, it may be best to keep the remake as the last title to the compilation if they ever get around to doing it. But meh, I might be the only one who feels this way.

I don't seriously understand how someone can say a remake of FFVII is more important than continuing the series and moving it forward. That seems completely counter productive and absurd.

For all intents and purposes FFVII is DONE. That installment is a finished product. They don't HAVE to remake it at all. The more important priority is finishing what they started and keeping the installments cycling forward, not remaking each and every FF that has a niche fanbase.

And I LOL at people prejudging FFXIII before it's even got a demo out. People were saying the same shit about FFXII, too.

A first impression hasn't even been made yet. How many people have actually picked up the game and played it?

The fact is, no one knows anything about the game at all and are just going by their own preconceived notions and assumptions.

LOL @ unpleasable fanbase.

If you don't like the look of something, you don't like the look of it. Obviously no one said the game is bad. ;)
