As the person who set up the poll, I'll answer this. If I had included Gabranth in the poll, then how could I have justified leaving out other NPCs, like the remaining judges? Wherever I drew the line, presumably based on "importance to the story", it would have been an arbitrary, subjective decision. By keeping it to "all playable characters and the primary antagonist", there's no room for my personal opinions to influence who made it onto the poll. Reks is a playable character.Like half (exaggerating) of the people in this thread voted Gabranth and he's not in the poll, yet friggin' Reks is in there? Madness!
For some reason I cannot fathom, I never liked Larsa on my first playthrough.
But, on my second playthrough some years later, I really liked him, and then came to realise how great a kid he is with everything he has to put with and do.
Balthier really stands out in the game for me, but I just had to give my vote to Larsa
Not related to any particular post, just based on the level of love Balthier gets: Interesting about Balthier is he's the only character with a Western motion actor. They also changed the script somewhat to reflect his cockier side more than the original did. He's definitely the character that's put the most effort into appealing to the Western audience, which might explain why so many of us are fond of him, or even says he's the only character that ever stood out to them.
