It's been a good year for indie electro.

TOTALLY agree with Lungs being number one, that album was glorious. Ellipse was fantastic too.

I was also REALLY fond of Tegan and Sara's album Sainthood, as well as Metric's Fantasies, although I know the latter didn't really do it for everyone.

Panopticon - Collapse (One Man's Quest to bring Anachro Pagan Black ShoeGaze Metal to the world)

Mastodon - Crack the Skye (Existential treaty on getting curb-stomped by the guitarist from system of a down)

Long Distance Calling - Avoid the Light (Not bad at all for Post Rock esp. the Renske track)

Katatonia - Night is the New Day (The mad Swedes further perfect their shade of melancholic metal)

Insomnium - Across the Dark (Do not read Sputnik Music ... this is a damn good album)

Ghost Brigade - Isolation Songs (Almost a little too catchy for Prog/Death but definitely an up and comer)

The Few Against Many - Sot (It's only problem is that it's too damn short)

Disarmoni Mundi - The Isolation Game (Really Great MeloDeath with Speed from Soilwork helping his Italian friends)

Blood Red Throne - Souls of Damnation (Not Turgenjev, But Close)

Porcupine Tree - The Incident (55 Minutes of the best band on Earth)

I didn't listen to enough new music in 2009. I'll consider doing some proper reviews for all these albums some time later. But they all come highly recommended.
