Anyway, I'm pretty anxious to get my next post up after re-reading through all the recent additions. I'm actually going to modify my profile a bit to expand Ronin's elemental abilities. "Darkness" is such a vague and ambiguous word with which to identify his power, I was thinking I could incorporate properties of gravity (I believe it fits in with the whole darkness theme) into his repertoire and better explain some of his other abilities so people aren't too confused about how he uses them. It's actually quite difficult to describe a power which doesn't have such an easily recognizable physical presence and effect as the others. Every post demands I invent new ways of manifesting and detailing his ability which has no real basic method for presentation and manipulation, while making sure not to make Ronin more powerful than he should be.

It's hard gaiz. ;_;

Yea you're in pretty much the same predicament as I am, you just have to get creative and realize the vagueness allows for a greater range of improvisational possibilities. You just have to keep your ideas restricted to a certain point.

Elemental Power: Darkness/Shadow/Gravity

He has been dubbed by some Violan dignitaries as the master of Death itself, as he has exhibited an unsettling ability to 'drain the life' from living things by desiccating an organism at the cellular level, and reducing it to nothing more than ash and dust. Ronin first debuted this ability five years ago when a guard, who took it upon himself to beat Ronin for invading his mind with suicidal suggestions, lost his right arm with a mere touch. It was documented that the blood in his veins turned black, muscles were paralyzed, skin became a lifeless shade of gray, and within minutes, the arm detached freely just above the elbow, as a dehydrated lump of compacted, powdery ash. Ronin was rendered comatose for the following two days, however has since cultivated this power within certain limitations.

Another notable capability of the Darkness element is shown in Ronin's capacity to manipulate the force of gravity, demonstrated within a transparent spherical field, noticeable as a blurred area of varying size within which swirls a faint black mist. Any object or organism targeted by this destructive orb is subject to either a decreasing or increasing gravitational pressure, which Ronin can use offensively to exert a crushing force, or defensively to allow himself (or others) to move faster and more nimbly. However, this technique is still in its infant stages of development, and even conjuring a force great enough to extinguish the lives of small animals such as rabbits and mice is extremely taxing on his energy and concentration, many times inducing acute migraines which require a rather large dosage of Distrum to alleviate. Some scientists have theorized that Ronin could potentially create a miniature quantum singularity with enough concentrated energy, however they concede such an attempt as liable to trigger an instant and fatal episode of Derinium.

EDIT: Plus I'm not understanding the use of gravity in darkness. Gravity isn't darkness, that's like saying darkness gives the power to manipulate matter. I understand darkness to exist as a kind of 'nothing-ness', therefore an abscence of matter, and things that dont have any matter cannot have a gravitational field. Yes, it can disintegrate things and destroy the essence of matter, but gravity just doesn't seem to figure in the physics of it all. Besides, isn't gravity a whole other element, therefore being a totally different kettle of fish?
