Hopes for Remake & Rebirth (gameplay/combat)

I think it's a combination of the 2 things really. If it's really fun, I don't mind if it only has minor rewards. If it's less fun, I want more rewards from it. I'd probably play something like Triple Triad with just minor rewards. Or Gwent in Witcher 3, which did only have very minor rewards...

Hopes for Remake & Rebirth (gameplay/combat)

None of the FFXV mini-games has much impact on the rest of the game though. What's the most you can get through fishing? Some new recipes? Compare that to Chocobo HotnCold, Triple Triad, or FF7's Chocobo Breeding. It's not even close. Those games all add a massive amount of new stuff to the...

It's been almost ten years since a new numbered title was announced

Yeah XV at launch was pretty disappointing. By the time Ep Ardyn is out though, the game will pretty much be twice as long as the launch game. It's a completely different thing at this point. I think their reason for pushing it out in such a bad state is just because it had been so long since a...

Hopes for Remake & Rebirth (gameplay/combat)

This has been a massive annoyance for me too. Both FFXII and FFXIII had nothing but hunts. FFXV had a few other things but they were so minor that they're pretty pointless. It's not since FFX have we had a mini-game that kinda spans the whole game, with Blitzball. Then Chocobo Hot'n'Cold in FFIX...

Vanille would be easy to accidentally push off a cliff.

    7. 8. Random line of dialogue in FFXV really made me piss myself. When a tonberry appears, ignis will sometimes say "A chef's knife? Hmmm. Perhaps he's offering us a culinary challenge." I love that kind of dumb humour.

It's been almost ten years since a new numbered title was announced

Lol FF7 remake is gonna be the only big budget Final Fantasy in the next 5 years. That'd be my guess. Part 1 will come out this christmas. Part 2 and Part 3 will come out with 2 year gaps between them. So that's about 5 years from now until it's all done. I really don't see why people are...

    Remake Interviews: Catch-all Thread

Well Square doesn't want to spend that much on marketing. They just think it's generally in their interest to do so.

    Remake Interviews: Catch-all Thread

Yeah but a large part of the promotional campaign for a Final Fantasy game is usually about showing us the world and characters. They don't have to really do that so much with this. We only really need to see the battle mechanics, the main characters, and then a quick explanation of how the...

    Remake Interviews: Catch-all Thread

The font doesn't really match FF7 though, like Shademp said. I know it's a pedantic level of tonal consistency, but developers often ARE that pedantic about such things. A font having that kind of elegant regal sense to it, fits with a game about a prince with a latin name. It does not fit with...

    Remake Interviews: Catch-all Thread

That's cos it's the one from the FFXV announcement event, back in 2016. I'm pretty sure that's a photoshopped image, not a real twitter timeline.

30 Days of Final Fantasy (2019)

Yeah but it's often some kind of impending doom for the whole world, that's gonna happen at some point in the future. Whereas Sin is a permanent fixture. There is no point where it's not happening. Until they kill the tick.

FFX you might just get randomly killed by Sin though.

30 Days of Final Fantasy (2019)

FF9 because there are 5 big and interesting towns/cities on the same continent, all of which are very different. You could travel between them by airship every few months if you wanted a change of scenery. Obviously pre-invasion of Burmecia and Cleyra. How would I live? I'd become a Dragoon...

Final Fantasy XV (was Versus XIII)

I have mixed feelings about it. I still think I'd have preferred either Luna or Aranea DLC, because I feel like those would've added more to the main story. Ardyn I didn't really need to know more about for the main story to work. But then I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. I'm especially...

Final Fantasy XV (was Versus XIII)

Posted on FFXV Japanese twitter. Looking awesome. I didn't notice Ardyn at the bottom for like 5 minutes, lol. I wonder how big this is gonna be? Will it be a small open-world area? My biggest hope is that upon completion, it adds this area back to the main game so you can explore with Noctis...

    Final Fantasy VIII General Discussion

Yeah you just need to know how to get the most powerful junctioning magic, and then all subsequent playthroughs become very easy. You can 100 Curagas in the first few hours of the game if I remember correctly. Junction that to HP and you're sorted.

30 Days of Final Fantasy (2019)

4: Depends if you mean plot or storytelling. For example, FFX has a really silly plot but it's incredibly well told. Whereas FFXV has a really good plot, that's told by a schizophrenic amnesiac. FF6 does fairly well on both categories, so I'll go with that. 5. FF7 is the boring answer but can't...
