How can you so astutely summarize the last three pages in just a couple of sentences?
It's like you've been here before...very sus.
But yes. This is another "the writers want to show us what a terrible person Tifa is, and Cloud may or may not just be using her anyway" argument. Something...
Cloud's mental instability is absolutely important. Her side-stepping his question by pretending it's not important is where she is lying. She knows it's important, but is lying to protect him, same as Tifa.
This whole "lying" thing is a bad angle and I don't know where you plan on going with...
Rereading my post on the first page of this topic four years ago (gods), I thought Remake leaned towards Tifa in most ways, and that the only devil's advocate argument you could make for Aerith was her resolution scene having the romantic tension that it did.
I have not played Rebirth so I will...
Oh don't worry. I have been a part of this fandom for 15 years. I am fully aware that the goalposts just get moved every time.
I still remember those Ultimania's coming out in 2010ish, where it listed couples in Final Fantasy games. And Cloud/Tifa were on those pages, along with Zidane/Garnet...
This topic is going to blow up just days after it releases. It would be pretty annoying having to click through 50+ pages of So perhaps it would be better to just put a warning on release day that this topic contains Rebirth spoilers, and that people should stay away until they finish that game?
Basically saying what everyone here has been parroting for years...
"Significant relationships that don't have to all be sexualized," knowing full well that the fandom loves to pretend that every character moment must have some hidden 'ship agenda.
Why weren't the leaks deleted from before Remake came out then, if that was the case? That game's demo was hacked with the ending and resolution scenes revealed almost a month before the game came out iirc...
Zack pops into existence from an alternate universe. He and Cloud work together to fight off Sephiroth and protect Aerith...
...then the whispers appear and push her down some stairs :(
Are you going to come back when Aerith dies?
I'm not. It's the game she's supposed to die in. Square knows that every OG fan knows this. So they played it up.
If they really do intend to kill her, she needs to get the focus as much as possible in this game to make the player care.
This seems unlikely to me. None of the modern Persona games ever got a female protagonist, and Persona 6 will probably be the same. FemMC in portable felt like an experiment, one that Atlus has demonstrated no interest in repeating.
Initially I believed the game would end after the city of the ancients. But having replayed the OG recently, plus some developer comments (about how they initially considered ending it in one more game) I think I lean in the northern crater camp now.
Although as a caveat, I do not think the...
