SPOILERS INTERmission Chapter 2 Spoiler Discussion

I think the way the base game ends disproves that, Zack and Cloud walk right past each other and don't acknowledge each other (plus there's the Stamp packaging thing). Unless that's purely symbolic of the timeline having changed and those two events don't actually happen at the same time, to me...

SPOILERS INTERmission Chapter 2 Spoiler Discussion

I think it'd be interesting if they did something similar to The Medium, like whilst playing as Cloud you see Zack doing something simultaneously in his reality. Don't know if they'll do that but everything is on the table now. Seeing the Midgar crew trying to hitch a ride is awesome, man I...

FFVII Remake: Intergrade Yuffie DLC Announced

Quite a few noticeable visual improvements here but the bump to 2160p in particular does the game such an enormous favour. Seems to be a few more SFX here and there too which lines up well with the talk that the audio mix is improved.

SPOILERS INTERmission Chapter 2 Spoiler Discussion

I preordered one as soon as they went up back in September. Fairly confident that's the only reason I have one honestly, a friend of mine has been trying to get one for months now with no success.

FFVII Remake: Intergrade Yuffie DLC Announced

Certainly didn't expect the FMVs to be in 60fps, that's genuinely quite impressive.

SPOILERS INTERmission Chapter 2 Spoiler Discussion

Nero as the final boss makes sense, I reckon there's undoubtedly some kind of stinger in the ending though. Whether or not that's Genesis I honestly don't know at this point, but in my mind it's got to be something that'll keep people talking until Part 2 is officially revealed. Genesis fits the...

    [Spoilers] Material Ultimania Plus discussion

Whilst I'm not a big Chapter 18 fanin terms of gameplay (the bosses themselves are fine but it's more or less just a gauntlet), the wider implications of what Sephiroth is aware of and more importantly what he's now capable of is massively intriguing, and honestly it ended up being the cherry on...

Something That Has Me Worried For Some Time Now

Yeah they were actively doing mocap in the later months of 2020 for presumably either Intergrade or Pt. 2 with Cloud and Tifa's actors, if memory serves correctly. Capcom have also put out video of them doing mocap for the Season 5 characters of SFV which will likely also have been in the same...

    Remake Merchandise

Sure, but then so was V2 Cloud imo (the hair screwed that one over mostly). V2 Barret was very close to the proto, maybe that was luck though. Japanese release is the left hand side image. Sculpt looks identical, but better plastic and paint seems fairly clear.

    Remake Merchandise

Japanese release of Tifa appears to be out now, Artnia mentioned they were getting stock this week. Doesn't appear to be much different from the existing release. Better paint apps maybe? I've softened on the previous release though, one of my friends got his not long ago from the SE Europe...

FFVII Remake: Intergrade Yuffie DLC Announced

Reminds me of Aerith's "Their words... They don't reach him" soundbite about Sephiroth at Destiny's Crossroads, at least at face value. Anyone know if that was worded similarly in Japanese to this new quote?

FFVII Remake: Intergrade Yuffie DLC Announced

To place emphasis on the wordplay going on is my guess; "INTER" ties it into INTERGRADE which is fully capitalised in the marketing, and "mission" I reckon is lower case to drive home the point that it's a smaller mission taking place at the same time as REMAKE. Nomura loves this kind of thing.

Final Fantasy VII Remake, One Year Later

Loved it, still do. It has its share of problems for sure, some more glaring than others, but it was overall a really satisfying package and a very solid foundation on which the next games can build, in more ways than one. The Whispers fascinate me in a positive way - I totally get why they're...

FFVII Remake: Intergrade Yuffie DLC Announced

Longer version of the features trailer shown during the Japanese PLAY!PLAY!PLAY! stream. The neon in Wall Market looks much nicer with the new lighting, plus they use a slightly longer and seemingly differently mastered version of the new Descendant of Shinobi arrangement. They weave in a bit of...

FFVII Remake: Intergrade Yuffie DLC Announced

4K as a pure resolution boost is great but as a bog standard Joe Consumer, it's HDR that's been the game changer in my experience of going from standard HD to UHD. It's genuinely transformative for some media with proper implementation, the RE8 demo and God of War PS4 in particular come to mind.

FFVII Remake: Intergrade Yuffie DLC Announced

I had absolutely no issue playing vanilla 7R at 30fps - it's a stable experience overall and I don't recall ever feeling short-changed in terms of input lag or a lack of responsiveness in controls. Performance mode looked very slick in the Intergrade trailer, but ultimately it depends on if it's...

FFVII Remake: Intergrade Yuffie DLC Announced

Man, I was right in the middle of my HM playthrough. Now I'm considering starting that over from the beginning to see all the changes, and that means HM Hell House again. Strength through suffering indeed.

    Remake Merchandise

Yeesh, I'd wondered why my Amazon JP order got pushed back, I had no idea about this. It's been said already, PAKs can be very inconsistent, but I've not seen one look quite like this since the old 2005 AC Play Arts. Here's hoping they're legitimately fixing the issue - I'll post some images of...

    FFVIIR Original Soundtrack

Got my copy of OST Plus over the weekend - knew this already from the base OST but Yoshitaka Suzuki and Shotaro Shima are now more than ever the MVPs, their arrangements are incredible. Everyone pulls their weight of course, the entire soundtrack is fantastic, but stuff like Destiny Comes and...

    FF Collections

Recently got a Detolf cabinet for organising my collection more ornately. It's not absolutely everything I have but it's most of it: Particularly proud of the OG special edition soundtrack, got it for an extremely good price with the original plastic wrap and sticker. One of the inserts is...
