You picked between the action style and RPG style at the start. What was your reason for showcasing the RPG style?

Takahashi: We wanted to show that it's easy to play even if you're not good at the battles. There were a lot of female fans playing the demo, so I hope they enjoyed it.

There's going to be a conference on 11th January next year, which (as well as FFXIII stuff and revealing several new games) is supposed to revealing a new character (or characters?) for this.

But since that's like, 3 months away I assume there's going to be more new stuff in the meantime :awesome:

Tifa seems likely as the character Takahashi was talking about, since she's likely to be the next for an official/public announcement.

I always feel that Barret gets largely ignored by the FFVII crowd, which is unfortunate. Not as much as Reeve/Cait Sith or Red XIII, but people definitely ignored to make room for Cid and Vincent. Outside of the big three (Cloud, Tifa, Aerith).

Even Yuffie's gotten a crowd, though she had a pretty impressive hate crowd pre-compilation.

Barret also gets a lot of flack because people perceive him as a racist depiction.

I know a lot of gamers that aren't that much into FF7 that like Barret, if only because he was one of the strongest characters after Cloud in FF7

He also doesn't get so much hate like the rest, since he managed to (mostly) avoid the shipping madness

Alas, I can't speak for every fan in the world. Most of FF7 characters have a lot of hate/love from fans, I just never saw much for Barret. Most people either like him or just don't really have an opinion

The Japanese site has the TGS trailer, the public one and not the one with Tifa sadly. But, the high-res let me see something - Terra's alt costume seems to have wings and a different dress with white gloves and polka-dots. That, and lookie what's on her head.
