Anyone else think that a good Cloud/Aerith parallel are the characters from Ghost? :monster:

Well ... the hand reach scenes. Here's what I think. The biggest meaning they have to me is that they are tributed, in the FFAC Reunion Files I think it was (like Aerith and Tifa's friendship was also tributed by it being said that the scene where Tifa looks at the water drop is a tribute to that friendship) Anyway it says something like the hand reach scene in AC is a tribute to the one in FFVII

I think that if the creator's remembered it enough to tribute it in AC with an upgraded version then the one in FFVII can't have meant nothing at all. To me it represents the special bond between Cloud and Aerith and the caring between them. I'm not saying romantic is a definite but I do feel that it was special because Cloud clearly cares deeply about Aerith in some way.

In FFVII I think Cloud knew/thought Aerith was there and that he reached out to her, I think he thought it was her hand. Mainly because Cloud saying "I think I can meet her ... there" would seem entirely random if it wasn't Aerith's hand/he wasn't thinking that! :monster:

For AC what I remember is how Cloud's expression changes, I mean he's like soaring up with his determination showing in his face, then grasping his sword with both hands and straining against Bahamut's flare when his eyes widen, he sees Aerith ... and he reaches out for her. That hand that he couldn't reach before, he now clasps.

Yeah I'm such a sap I know >_>

This is more of a personal thing for me than anything ^-^

I definitely agree with this. I think I should have spoken up in the LTD thread, when people were saying that Aerith's hand turning into Tifa's negated Aerith's hand. xD Since the creators themselves say that Cloud and Aerith's hands meeting is supposed to make up for what players missed at the end of FFVII. I think that what Cloud and Aerith have certainly is special, I will give you that. :monster:

I really like how Maiden describes that scene... how it was Aerith saving him from falling into the lifestream, and that her hand reminded him of the frailty of a flower.

That scene shows a lot of emotion, yeah. I think Cloud looks absolutely astounded.

It's a pretty good movie.

Mostly it reminds me of C/A because there's a very emotional part where the main girl who the main guy has fallen in love with gets killed, and he fights the man who killed her to the death. It's closer to a more depressing Cloud/Aerith.

Now you mention that (spoiler thingy), I think I saw that last bit of the movie. A bit over-dramatic like only Asian movies can be though.

Yeah the ending was a bit overly dramatic. Maybe without the random snow it would have been better. Or maybe if they were in a place that had snow to begin with instead of a place that was green then suddenly there's a foot of snow in five minutes. XD

Actually yes I can see that. Ghost is a much better comparison, although not 100%. But I doubt there will be anything out there that is.

I actually have thought of that as a parallel XD so romantic :lol:

Oh and I love house of flying daggers too, great parallel. There was a period where I watched AC and that movie constantly because I got that good 'ol Cleris feeling ^_^

Nin, that one with Sora is absolutely adorable! Hehe... and the first one kinda scares me, lol. I saw a Clerith version of Animal Crossing (that's what it reminds me of), and it was SO adorable... and kinda weird. Wish I could find it. T^T

Well, the place did have snow. It snowed without them expecting it (in October!) and while the leaves were still on the trees. It looked awesome, so they wanted to shoot the scene like that and changed the script and stuff.

This one makes me think he's giving her away at the wedding. Since she's in the wedding dress, and he's in a regular suit rather than a tux, and no one is celebrating outside the church it's unlikely he's the groom (bad luck to see the bride before the wedding and all). But yeah, though she's the bridge, I don't get the feeling that he's the groom.

Also I can't understand this one but it looks so sad and sweet. ;_;

This one is about how much money Aerith owes Cloud for all the shennanigans she made him pay for, so he tries to get it before she leaves, but she forgot her wallet, so he cries for his missing money.

What? Can't I employ crazed pinker logic for the lulz every so often?

About the strip...

The text there says: "ごめん/Gomen/I'm sorry", and "いいのよ/Ii no yo/It's all right".

I think Cloud just saw Aerith's ghost, stopped her, and had flashbacks. Then Aerith touched his face and disappeared.

It's a sad strip. :sadpanda:

Sora is Izumi Konata. Still though, I've never gotten the 'Sora is their love child' nonsense. For one, they're far too young (Sora's a teenager.
