30 Days of Final Fantasy!! (2018)

This is something of a revamp of the same community game that was done back in 2011.

I (or Flare) will be asking you a new question each day throughout the month of March from the same set of questions posted. The only difference is that I've run the questions through a randomiser...so you won't be able to anticipate us entirely.* >:3

The questions will be written in big, white bold type so that you can't miss'em. Feel free to play catch up whenever you want to (that is, feel free to answer any of the questions already posted, even if you 'miss' a day).

Without further ado, the first question is...!!

Who is your favourite female Final Fantasy character?


*I replaced two of the questions with ones that I thought were more interesting and reworded some others.

Just one? I don't think I can narrow it down, but the first three that came to mind were Beatrix, Lightning, and Lucrecia, in that order.

Let me tell you why Aerith is just simply the best.

I gotta say Faris. At least how I interpreted the character. Wacky pirate captain. Most endearing .

Oohh!!! I love this! Right now it's Eiko cos she's annoying in all the ways I am love that girl!

Shiva. Always looks awesome, no dramas.

I've got a soft spot for Shera, the phrase 'long-suffering' springs to mind.

Aerith has been my favorite since I got into the series. She's just absolutely unconventional for her looks and role type, and I hold her in high regard for it.

Beatrix,

. The two former for overall coolness and being Generals in their respective militaries, and the latter for her physical strength, her emotional strength AND her emotional weakness which enhanced both the plot and her character, imo.

, but I admit most of what I like about her is in my head.

Man...and there's Freya...I like a lot of FF female characters....

 

[Mother]

Tifa (VII), for all the same reasons ForceStealer mentioned, and Fran (XII), for her cut and dry frankness with just a touch of sass.

Tifa, also for the reasons ForceStealer mentioned.

 

[Roger]

I'm gonna go with Rikku, for combining youthful energy with some serious goals and emotional weight, a lot of the so called Genki girls do this but it's less of a juxtaposition with Rikku, it's pre-Eternal Calm Spira, bad stuff is never not happening and they did a good job of having someone like Rikku still make sense in it I feel.

 

[Joe]

It's a hard tie between Rikku, for the reasons Roger mentioned above, and Freya, for being so damn interesting. I loved every part of Freya and her story when I first played through FFIX and she still remains one of the most unique characters in the series.

 

[SeaDragon]

Freya, for her strenght, job class and story. She faces tragic moments showing her weaknesses, but with great determination. Often we can see how it is also a sweet and friendly character.

Another excellent reason.

 

[Carlie]

1) Tifa - What Force said.

2) Freya - What Joe said.

3) Garnet - During the prologue alone I was hooked.

4) Beatrix - What Force said.

5) Fran - What B said.

6) Fang - Badass lesbian, need I say more?

Who needs complicated backstories when you can get by just fine punching and kicking the shit out of anything that moves.

I really like Tifa, and Beatrix, and Fran, but I'm going to have to give this one to Serah, specifically in XIII-2.

For fricks sake, she knows she's gonna die, but she still sets out to save the world. When everyone else doubts and wonders if they should press on, she NEVER wavers.

 

[Obsidian Fire]

One of my favorites is Iceheart/Ysayle from FFXIV: Heavensward. The monologue she gives to the Heretics in Ishgard after the Aery, is one of my favorite cutscenes in the entire game. She also is one of the rarer types of idealists in that her ideals really are the reason she is doing what she is doing and not just an excuse for it.

And since we're on the subject of FFXIV... my own character!

 

[Kionae]

I've always been weirdly drawn to Shelke from DoC (Compilation titles count, right?). She starts out as an enemy, eventually becomes an ally, and had gone through so much prior to meeting her and then AFTER meeting her that it's had not to sympathize with her.

 

[Sasseli]

Will always be Aerith, since she was literally the Final Fantasy character I've ever encountered and she's captivated me instantly, even without knowing hey backstory. Plus she's the most beautiful character, at least to me. ��

 

[Ite]

Tifa. I don’t know if she’s a monk or a barbarian.

 

[Ami]

Definitely Tifa. I always identified with her the most.

Tifa same reason as Ami. I've got a soft spot for Terra too (her design is just so beautiful <3 ) as well as for Freya.

She was such a dick about Shalua though. Interesting character at least, I liked the idea of her character.

FFVII: Used to always like the simplicity of the designs in this game, but my tastes have evolved .
