AC to ACC Comparisons

I was going to write down every little detail I saw that was different, but I got bored with that after a while.

But anyway, here's a bunch of new and old comparison shots I whipped up. The ACC pics are from my downloaded version, and the AC ones are from my self-ripped copy of the movie. Sorry for the white/green stuff on some pictures. Paint hates me. More to come soon.

New on the left, old on the right, but I think it's pretty easy to tell which is which, even with these smallish screen-shots.

New lighting and slightly different animation in the clouds.

More color and detail. More desert-like sky.

More color and detail. The water now reflects sunlight. More detail in the distant hills and mountains.

The helicopter looks a little different. More blue and you can see more. You can see the snow swirling around the helicopter.

You can see the snow and clouds more clearly.

The lifestream is animated differently. The background now looks blurred instead of like showering mako.

You can see the continents on the planet more clearly. The blue-lightning like things are now red. Stone is darker. Meteor looks more like magma. Less stars. The moon has better lighting.

Better lighting. More detail in Sephy's hair. He looks more creepy.

You can see the rubble behind Sephy more clearly. Still more creepy.

Cait's riding his moogle! And Barret doesn't have a shirt under his vest anymore. You can also see Tifa's boot throughout the shot. It never dissapears behind RedXIII like before.

This shot is pretty much completely different.

Pretty much looks more awesome now.

Better lighting on Kadaj. Different expression.

Better lighting on Tifa. She's covered in dirt.

That was one of my favorite things about the movie is how Absolutely crisp the colors are. The BluRay really does look amazing & you can tell that they re-rendered the scenes. A lot of the expressions - like Cloud's in Healin - help portray the emotions a lot better than in the original.

Wow, great differences - the ACC movie's lighting looks a lot better, and the emotions on the characters are more clear. I love how they added dirt and smudges to the characters too, instead of making them perfect.

Oh waw. When AC came out, I practically worshiped Square for the wonderful graphics, I didn't even mind about the story the first time I watched. In ACC. Wow, just wow. The detail and the color are just gorgeous. The artistry was simply..err..kick ass.

And I loved how they worked more on the character's reaction and the reality of the scenes.

ACC, two thumbs up.

PS: The power of blu-ray. U_U

At first I wasn't convinced Blu-Ray could make THAT big difference. But after the first minutes of watching ACC, I was simply stunned. *__*

Hah. I love how there's a lot of subtle differences not only in the visuals but also the audio, like the sound effects. And I was nerd enough to actually notice them.

I noticed another funny detail.
In the credits, there was a "Cloud Simulation Artist" popping up. In ACC, it's "Croud Simulation Artist".

...now what WAS he doing? Simulations for clouds? Or did they mean...crowds?
I'm going to go with the latter since I guess the crowd in the Bahamut and Shadow Creeper scene needs more work than some lousy clouds (except of course THE Cloud )

Also, should they be bigger? I was thinking you might not want too many huge shots in one thread, but a lot of the detail is lost when they're so small.

I'm glad you pointed out the different expression on Kadaj. I noticed something was better about it but it was hard to tell what without having them side by side. I always though kadaj's smirkish expression was a little overused and obnoxious.

How could I not resist more Sephy-flames pics? That scene is soooo much better now.

Better lighting, different book (if the brown thing in the old thing is a book). The articles on the wall to the right of Tifa are different. The door to the kids' room is fully open now. The door isn't reflecting unrealistic of light anymore.

New lighting, outfit is slightly different, shoulder guards are different.

Moogle girl looks nicer now. I always thought she looked a little mean in this scene before. Better lighting. The building behind her is a little different.

KADAJ IS DROOLING!! No, not really.

Cloud draws the right sword now.

The camera is closer to the cape and you can see Vincent.
