We do indeed spend a lot of time being isolated by an alien. And the other meaning is also true, the alien itself is pretty isolated.

Thats because there's no map, which is also why I gave up after half an hour.

i started this, i think i am at chapter 5?

in the medical section trying to get a key card

i was previously stuck in a locker with the alien walking around outside and i don't know what to do because i don't know if it will just go away or if shooting it with the revolver will actually do anything

i was hiding under a bed for a while and it was horrible and then i tried to run in random directions but it hit me and then killed me

i cannot imagine this game with a vr headset because that would be evil

i just want to sit in lockers and hope the alien leaves me alone

I'd say yes. They really nailed the atmosphere of the original film in a good many places.

I really ought to get back to this at some point.

I rewatched Alien in preparation for this and finally started playing.

...I only got to the Sevastopol and then had to stop because I got motion sickness unfortunately.

This game gives me the heebie-jeebies. Despite me knowing that I don't have to fear the Alien yet. I only just saw it in a cutscene for the first time.
I don't know if I'll be able to deal with this game once the hunt is truly on

No it isn't. I spent a while getting there just soaking up the atmosphere of everything around me though. I've been meaning to have my girlfriend play through it ever since she moved in with me about a year ago, so I'm thinking October might be when I do (after we've finished our Godzilla marathon).
