Yeah I liked the music too. <3
It looks promising, but I'm still not sold on Emma or the Beast, appearance-wise. But it's the acting that really makes the characters, so I suppose I have to watch it when it comes out to really see how they do it. It is one of my favorite Disney movies.

Yes, the introduction music redone gives me the damn chills every time. It's one of those rare musical tracks (for me at least) that sounds old and new at the same time; like it gives the sense that you're about to experience a new take on something old. I can't really put the feeling into words.

Now that the official trailer is out and I've seen it...

Even less enthused that Emma Watson is portraying Belle.

I'm still not as enthused about Beast's design too, I just keep wishing he was more beastly However I'll likely give it a watch when it's out on dvd/blu-ray anyhow, I mean it could still be quite good. Hard not to nitpick classic Disney movies though when you feel like some of the designs and such fall flat and it's one of your favorite Disney movies ever

It just feels like a lesser version of the original. It's the problem I've had with a lot of remakes of Disney's old stuff, they stripped it of the personality that the originals had.

I kinda feel like they tried to make beast look almost... broody, now that I think about it. He doesn't have an overbite anymore really it's almost... pouty? Anybody else see that?

I dunno, seeing this trailer just gave me all the feels for the original. It's not my favourite but it really screams that they're staying true on this one. Far closer than other adaptations.

I feel pretty meh about the whole thing :/ I said I would take my niece if she wanted to go, but she isn't too fussed on how most of the characters look, particularly Chip.

Why does Beast look like Krampus? I'm not impressed with Lumiere or Chip either, or the fact that Angela Lansbury isn't singing the godsdamned song. Lefou and Gaston look superb though, they look like good casting choices.

Idk I think I have high hopes now because the live action Jungle Book was actually pretty amazing. I watched it not too long ago randomly with a friend and I was kind of amazed. Then again, I liked Maleficent and everyone hated that.

*shrug* I think it looks fine. I agree that the Beast could be more bestial, and I wish the song weren't quite so...pop song sounding (maybe it's just credit roll version?). But otherwise I think it looks remarkably similar to the animated one, I'm glad that it is still a musical, and how closely the sets actually seem to match.

To be honest, I was quite impressed with the last trailer. I thought it seemed a lot better than the previous ones and Emma Watson seemed a lot more natural than before. One thing I didn't like however is that they are making Belle to be super perfect (she's "ahead of her time") and it just makes her character less rather than more interesting. And though the trailer was better I'm still not really hyped about the film because it does seem a bit underwhelming. The only thing I really want to see is Luke Evans as Gaston, because he seems amazing!

I am sorry, but that track sounds incredibly cheap. I would be surprised if they used any real instruments to make the backing track. Which is sad because they must have had an enormous budget for this film and still the backing track sounds like they used some karaoke version of the original song. Which is weird because they must have an orchestrated score for the film and the songs on the film must have an orchestrated background, so why can't this? This is supposed to be the track that plays during the credits and it sounds like a cheap demo.

Also even though the singers are good, they don't really compliment each other. Don't get me wrong, they sound alright, but I just don't think their voices fit together. Also does Ariana's voice sound always so breathy? I'm not really impressed with her performance in this. And I think she is an amazing singer.

I agree on the song. Like I said, for a "song as old as rhyme," it sure sounds a lot like a 2010s-era pop song.

I had no idea so many people were down on Emma Watson. Kinda felt like everyone liked her, haha.

I have no real opinion on her one way or another. She's just kinda... there, to me. Last thing I saw her in was one of the first Harry Potter movies tho, so who knows.

I originally liked hearing Emma was playing in the movie because, well, I loved Hermione and think it'll be fun seeing her act again in something I'm interested in. The trailers of her seem okay, the real test will be the actual movie.

I kinda wish they had her father still being the inventor instead of adding it on her; I guess they wanted to make her 'better' or something. My desire for her father to remain the inventor is because it seemed to fit into him being an outcast from the others and why no one wanted to listen to his words, called him crazy, etc.
(It's been a few years since I've seen the original version though!)

Anyway I'm not super enthused about the movie because I usually have trepidation about remakes and the like, but I'm always willing to give them a shot and wait to see what the actual movie is like.

I can't fathom why they didn't use the original song or ask Celine to re-record (maybe they did and she declined), but:

I mean, to an extent I can understand wanting to update it, but the cheesy 90's synth is still in the new one, so wtf was the point!? You can't outdo Celine. You literally just can't. She is Celine.
