Chrono Cross Remaster

While I was searching around for various Chrono Cross stuff, I came across an article, which referenced another article, which referenced yet another article, which referenced a Reddit post about another SE game. Which all seem to point to a not-unlikely chance of CC getting a shiny new coat.

If this is true, I am STOKED.

Yeah, Mitsuda also teased a new project announcement for this month and Another Eden just had a Chrono Cross collab storyline.

It will be a chance for a newer generation to experience a timeless masterpiece.

It was in the Grand NVIDIA Leak, and so far many things there have been later confirmed.
CC Remaster is probably the same treatment FF8 Remaster was.
FF9 Remake is probably (but hopefully not) a codename for the (CG?) animation that's being produced, which would have ended on that list for work from home reasons (using GeForce NOW) ?

By that logic, FF6 would have come before FF8. But that would require a ground-up remake, because they'd be building from a 2D game.

Not saying it won't happen, but I could see them doing a remaster for CC to gauge reaction before putting in the resources to build CT from nothing.

Some CT or FF6 remake in the same vein as Trials of Mana remake.
That would be my bare minimum quality requirement, other than the so called painstakingly half-made pixel remasters.

That depends on what we are talking about. If CC Remaster is the same treatment as FF8 had, and CT would be HD-2D, yes.

Yes, either that, or a minimum of Trials of Mana 3D remake quality.
Dragon Quest III is being redone in that particularly branded HD-2D style.

Personally, I'd like a remake similar to ff7. I'd still play if it was like OT though. I love that game so far

I love the art style, but I just couldn't get into the story, it was so bland.

Everyone was really hyped for this, but the only thing that came of it (so far anyway) was some Another Eden Chrono Cross thing. No word at all about Chrono Cross itself returning in any form. Some think that the 'leak' was actually just referring to the Eden thing.......which is really deflating.

Yeah, I was thinking that might also be a possibility. But didn't the AE thing already release in December? I figure if that was the case, people would have already been able to determine if the JSON files are from the AE game or not.

I dunno, this is all new to me.

Wow, OK! A remaster if the original was just announced for Switch. It’s cool because it includes Radical Dreamers, which is the first time it’s officially released in the west IIRC. I have a special place in my heart for Radical Dreamers ever since I played the fan translation, so that was nice they included it. Otherwise seems like a standard and solid remaster, not a remake.

Yeah hopefully it’ll be audio quality enhancements and not putting a guitar solo in Garden of the Gods or something. Don’t let the Secret of Mana composer guy in the studio.

At this point the lack of Trigger is just suspicious. Probably a HD-2D remake coming, Octopath style.
