Really unfortunate about the performance issues on Switch. I, personally, lose a silky smooth RPG, so I'll need to investigate how the PS4 version holds up before purchasing.

Cross always had performance issues, but battles on Switch run even worse than they did before. As soon as I got to Viper Manor, everything from there on seemed to be a constant battle with low framerate leading to unresponsive controls as a result. Navigating battle menus felt off, and animations played off very choppy... Square has informed us there will be two patches on launch week, but we are unsure if either will address these performance issues.

It seems like serious issues are plaguing all versions of the release

I really want to play a semi-stable version (and was hoping the PC release would beat out the others), but it seems that's not an option (44% on Steam). I'm torn between getting my nostalgia fix and waiting it out.

What kind of stability issues are they? Does the game freeze? Does it shut down? Does it stutter? Does it seriously undermine the gaming experience? Otherwise, if the game is accessible and affordable, I can't see any reasons not to play it.

PS One classic version of Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger are now unplayable on PS3 and Vita. If you still have them in your device you're safe but out of luck if you uninstalled and want to redownload them again.
