Cid contradicts the timeline?

You know what doesn't make sense? How a town that's only been around for four years can look so old, with moss growing on the rooftiles and everything. You know what else doesn't make sense? Launching a rocket in the middle of a wood. And how come none of those trees got destroyed in the blast? In fact, it doesn't even make any sense that Shera is still alive. But then again, building a rocket launch pad a hundred metres from an old hamlet built of wood and wattle doesn't exactly make sense either.

The questions keep piling.

Were the space program engineers fired? If so, how do they make a living in Rocket Town? Why build a town right next to the constant reminder of their crushed hopes and dreams? Not only that, but according to Cid the rocket tilts a bit more every day.

“Everyday, it tilts a little bit more.”
“At this rate,
I don't know which'll be first,
this thing falling over or
me gettin' outta here.”

Then why build a town right where the rocket could fall down and crush one or more houses? Also, the rocket is still leaning at the exact same angle during OG as it did in the flashback. If the rocket is indeed tilting more and more, it is by microscopic proportions.

The rocket also appears to barely tilt at all in this field image compared to the field seen when you first enter town.

Any leaning that goes on here is also poorly drawn.

Not to mention, why doesn't the rocket appear to be leaning when you are inside it? I didn't think about that last bit until I read ObstinateMelon's FFVII comic. :monster:

I'm guessing they just didn't bother using different images for your first visit and the one just before they launch. They probably got the things straightened out when they were prepping for take- off.

To me it looks like the rocket was leaning during take-off. The perspective makes it look fairly straight in the first 15 seconds of the FMV, but later I get the impression that it is indeed leaning. To me it looks like the rocket was not straightened before final launch.
