Crazy Chocobo is fucking hilarious

So I got Theatrhythm FF: Curtain Call recently, and Crazy Chocobo is one of te DLC songs I decided to download. When I played it, I could't help but laugh at how ridiculous the lyrics are. Seriously, it has to be heard to be believed:

My favorite line would have to be "Everybody's gonna wanna ride your chocobo". I still can't believe this is an actual official song in the game, and composed by Uematsu, no less.

It fits in so well in the context of XIII-2 :monster:

Gas ‘em up with the greens and let him go
Stand back, stand clear as he puts on a show
So cute yet fierce, is he from hell?
I cannot tell, yet I don’t even want to know
So you wanna be a trailblazer?
Kickin’ dirt like a hell raiser?
Take the reins, but don’t react slow
It’s time to feel the force of the chocobo

So you think you can ride this chocobo?
Got Chocobucks? You better put them on this chocobo!
Saddle up, if you think you can ride in this rodeo
Are we in hell? I don’t know… to the dirt, let’s roll!
You’re loco if you think you’re gonna hide this chocobo
Everybody’s gonna wanna ride your chocobo
It’s choco-loco style in a choco-rodeo
Gonna ride him straight through hell in this chocobo rodeo!
Yeah, let’s ride!

This song earns mad respect for me because it's one of the signs that in the blackened corporate heart of Squeenix beats a still small voice that wants to have fun and isn't afraid to make fun of itself.

See also Good King Moogle Mog's theme:

It's like something that belongs in Shrek:

Good King Moggle Mog
Good King Mog
Lord of all the land! (Kupo!)

Good King Moggle Mog
Good King Mog
Rules with iron hand!

Good King Moggle Mog
Good King Mog
Leads the brave and true!

Good King Moggle Mog
Good King Mog
Now come along and meet his trusty crew!
Kupo!

Kupta Kapa will clip your tuft
Split your hairs and ruffle your fluff

Kupdi Koop will throw you for a loop
Brave a wall of whiskers to find his troupe

Kupli Kipp is sly yet sweet
He'll tickle your nose then tickle your feet

Jolly Kogi's eye for fun is clear
He'll put an arrow straight in your rear!

Pukla Puki plays with fire
Poms a-burning on her pyre

Puksi Piko likes her buddies big
To sing a little song and dance a little jig

Pukna Pako shivers and shakes
She'll stick you in the gut and give you bellyaches

And who's behind them, standing tall?
Why, the biggest moogle of them all!

(Spoken) Who!? Who!? Whoever could it be!?

Good King Moggle Mog
Good King Mog
Kind and noble lord (hear! hear!)

Nod your noggle nog
And mind your gob
Or he'll put you to the sword!

Good King Moggle Mog
Good King Mog
His judgment you will dread!

Good King Moggle Mog
Good King Mog
What do you decree?
What do you decree?
What do you decree?

Off with their heads!

^ Why does that immediately remind me of Halloween Town? :monster:

Because the string pizzicato is almost exactly the same, not to mention the whole song has a very Danny Elfman feel to it.

Shootie HG arranged this, Uematsu wasn't involved with that soundtrack. :monster:
(Note: He gets credit as composer for all Chocobo themes because he did compose the original)

What are the lyrics of the original version? I remember playing through XIII in Nautilus and doubletaking because I thought I heard the line "Human Slaaaaaaaves!"

People always say that as though FF13's story made any freaking sense in the first place. 13-2 was easier to follow, and considering the game involves time travel, that's absurd.

Also, Serah and Noel (especially Noel) were hugely pleasant surprises as competent, likable protagonists.

I think the biggest problem people have with it is
the huge downer ending. LR fixes it though, but that one's story is also divisive among fans.

Didn't mind a downer ending, my issue was that they built a really great world to play with in the first game, and then just dumped it out of hand, Academia was a great level, though.

ugh rehashing myself

XIII = Fab story, badly told
XIII-2 = terrible story (or at least, it was shoddy as a continuation), well told

I had no problem with XIII-2's ending, but I understand why people did. "Hey we're making another one!" is not what fans wanted to hear when we spent time asking why they had to make XIII-2 in the first place. I loved LR though, so I'm not complaining.

I never did play XIII-2, and now I want to.

I don't remember how you felt about XIII, but if you liked it at all, I definitely think you should play 2. It improved pretty much everything about it, gameplay-wise.

I liked the story.

Lighting was a sexy BAMF.

Battle system was aggravating.

I got stuck on a boss fight and was in a tiny area where it was tedious to level up.

I gave up.

I watched the ending on YouTube. :monster:

Actually, for the XIII trilogy,
I thought XIII-2's downer ending was an interesting move. It's one of the most depressing endings to an FF game ever, and you get to see the bad effects of it even more when you play LR. Which means, I didn't mind it; though of course I'm glad the series ended on a good note. I liked XIII's trilogy, but it's not in my top favorite FF games. Interesting storylines to all three games, but XIII and LR were the most enjoyable to play out of the three.
Though you're right Force in that Serah and Noel were good protagonists. :monster:

Then play XIII-2. Pretty much everything about the battle system is better. (there is less Lightning, which is unfortunate...but she does get a whole other game to herself after that).
As for XIII itself, I found that leveling up was never the solution when I was stuck on a boss. The issue was always a strategic one. And I loved that about it.
