Had an "Oh crap" moment whenthey flooded the city and you see that huge floodwave coming towards you.
Awesome. x)
Completed it last night also, ending was good although I was really confused with the"they call me prophet" shit at the end until I realised the suit obviously was integrating Prophets mind into Alcatraz the entire game
Since I'm a newb at FPS games I played the game in Recruit difficulty. For my second run I jumped straight to Supersoldier.
It's actually pretty fun. Have to play way more stealthily and using Armor Mode efficiently in direct confrontations is pretty much the only way to survive them. Makes that shit way more tense.
I also found a few alternate routes I didn't notice the first time as well as some easter eggs, like the CELL soldiers listening to techno music and then speaking German in the substation.
Obv it's a bit more limited to accommodate consoles, but you can still use random shit as weapons, attach c4 to can and throw it and use it as a bomb, or attach it to a vehicle and use it as a car bomb. I was a little disappointed in that, but the verticallity adds enough of a new layer that I didn't mind too much.
I'm hoping this game sells googobs at retail, enough to not only justify a sequel that improves the formula and adds everything from the first game and the second, but so the Cryengine 3 becomes popular enough that it overtakes Unreal 3 as a new industry standard. It may be a pipe dream, but ffs for once I want an RPG that's on the cutting edge of graphics.
Related to the end of this post: The CryEngine 3 SDK available now for free, so hopefully there's a reason / capability for more developers to start making games with it vs. Unreal 3.
