Deadpool Spin off

It was a good film. Comedy was exceptionally good, fighting was good, story was good, but I think it still lacked something important. I think it comes down to my perception (at least) that not much actually happened in the film. A good -- but short -- story over a length of your average feature film :P. You basically got your flash back bit, the battle on the bridge bit, and your end battle scene, with some interludes. I wanted more D:. 3.9/5 stars.

Ok so I have to make a 30 second radio promo for my sound production course and I decided to do it for Deadpool. So I'm looking for ideas on what to say to promote Deadpool on Valentine's weekend.

Read an interesting article about how Deadpool may be a sign of superhero movie fatigue. We're now getting to the stage where a film deconstructs superhero tropes, etc. It probably won't mean the end of superhero movies, rather we may be about to enter a new era of them, if history is anything to go by. Makes me curious as to what the next big genre in film-making will be.

I saw the movie and I award it seven asses.

Favorite joke for me was the "McAvoy or Stewart?" line. Oddly, while the audience had a good time during the movie, barely anyone reacted to this one.

Could be :monster:

Also, I hope Marvel/Sony takes note of Deadpool's emoting mask and does the same for Spidey. :P

That's an interesting point. One-Punch Man is also largely popular and is a deconstruction of the Hero genre, and while I think that one could interpret it as Hero media fatigue, I think that it's just proving that the genre is WAY broader than it's been used for (also looking at the success of GotG).

I'm more hoping that it's factors of fans of an idea/property knowing what something is supposed to be and sticking to their guns. Deadpool won out despite attempts at the studio to not be supportive and the bigwigs were proved dead wrong by its overwhelming success. Hopefully, it'll help later films be more flexible in the genre, and end up giving us better movies by letting them trust who they pick, and not over meddle (like with FF). I'm also hoping that a rated R film is a thing that can be more frequently done again, and that pandering to the PG-13 rating isn't a necessity.

Possible, yeah; the Avengers movies was where they pulled out all the stops in terms of number of characters, action sequences, cgi, etc; they probably won't be able to top that anymore. Stuff like Ant-Man seemed like they were reaching for things to make movies about.

Re: Stephen Lang. I feel bad for the guy in saying this, but there's gonna have to be some major camera trickery / special effects to make him appear to have the height and build of Cable. If he got selected, to me it'd be like Hugh Jackman being selected for Wolverine (a choice I loathed :P). Granted, I like this image of Cable, and it does look a bit like Lang.

As for other suggestions. I can't think of a guy who would be good, after scouring google images for old weathered-yet-strong-looking actors. I looked into wrestlers too, but they're all bad actors :P. However, they did have a black Cable for Days of Future Past... so, out of left field... what about... Dave Fennoy? :awesome:. Shave the locks, put him in the gym, and he's all set.

Saw this today. Had very low expectations going in, but this turned out pretty good. It delivers exactly what it promised a Deadpool movie. Liked that didn't go super over the top with the 4th wall breaking. Liked how Colossus was used in the movie. The ending was rather "un-Deadpool" like, but I liked it all the same. Kind of like Mad Max last year, went in expecting shit and what happily surprised.

Maybe there is a bigger comic book fan that me that can help me with something that was bugging me during the movie. Colossus is seen eating while in metal form, I seem to remember that he couldn't eat or drink while in that form, but it has also been a good two decades since I last read an X Men comic so might be wrong. Can anyone answer if I am remembering right?
