Artolian would make a bit more sense, as Basic comes from a galaxy with thousands of inhabited worlds. Some work would have to be done though, to explain why Artolian is the lingua franca of DessieWorld.

I'm such a procrastinator, you know? Last week, before I logged off of the public access PCs, I saved a copy of the pages of the story posts I had yet to read. Seven whole days to read them... and I finally get around to it yesterday evening. Damn near two solid hours of reading. I knew I had a few more posts to read today, but I've caught up on four weeks of posts.
God damn.
And yes, it took over two hours to read them all (a lot less to read the three posted in the past week). But in between, to stop my brain from glazing over so I didn't take anything in...
Well, I hope you enjoy. =)
