Now I know that all of us here could talk about Final Fantasy 7 for hours talking about how awesome it is and how it defines gaming in the 90's and so on and so forth. But there is no way any of us can say its a perfect flawless game. So with that being said what are the things you didn't like about FF7?

Mine was how no dialogue wasn't really skippable so certain parts of the game(such as Kalm flashback and Cloud's Subconscious) were unbearably long.

Too many of the mini game/sections had shitty controls imo, off the top of my head the shiny wire of hope jump, Rufus' welcome parade march......and some other stuff that I've forgotten.

Or maybe I was just shit :monster:

How easy it becomes after a certain point. Eventually your party will become so powerful that random encounters are more of a nuisance than anything else.

Iirc, there's no point to using a lot of magic and summons in the later stages in the game where you're fairly uber powerful, because the magic and summons don't really do much damage to enemies any more. Hell, if memory serves me correctly (again), I think some magic and summons are obsolete even on the first disc? A lot of FFs have had this issue though. I think all the magic and summons should be relevant throughout the game.

Going with Octo on the mini-games. The infiltration of Shinra HQ where you have to sneak past the guards (not so much these days because I've miraculously gotten better at it), yeah Rufus' parade and send off and that bloody motorbike bit. It'll probably be quicker for me to list the mini-games that I did like :monster:

Hmhmhm...I agree about the magic/summons. You'd think that having such things in the game would call for more incorporation. The only FF game I've played that had a useful magic system was FFXII...you could even inflict status effects on some bosses in that game...i.e. the magic actually made a difference.

The only mini game I was good as was feeding the Moogle. lol. I think I would've enjoyed the Gold Saucer more if I had a shot at winning any of the games. :monster:

I didn't like the fact that there was no point to some items, like the 1/34 soldier (or whatever it's called).

The Kalm flashback was, by far, my least favorite part of the game. Pure exposition, next to no interaction beyond clicking through dialog, and no way to speed things up.

I realize there's a need to convey backstory, but my god...

The first time I played it (and the second time, after knowing what happens) I thoroughly enjoyed the Kalm flashback.

Every time since then it's been an utter nightmare of mashing circle and trying not to fall asleep. I hate it.

^^^ I'm dreading that part actually...I just started a new game, and I get to play it for like 45 minutes to an hour late at night and I'm battling sleep trying to get through the exciting parts of the game right now. :monster:

Same here... I just recently grabbed it from the Playstation store, and have intentionally put off continuing until this weekend because I'm coming up on that part of the game.
