Yeah because Pixar is so shit now right? They totally didn't create one of my favorite films.

Pixar is nothing like Marvel, you can't even equate the two.

I for one, am glad that Disney has bought Marvel. I've always thought that Batman needed a more kid-friendly attitude.

Yet you can compare ABC, ESPN, and Mirimax when they're nothing like it?

What a joke.

Also, rofl @ Alex.

Pixar doesn't do contriversial, edgy, stories like Mirimax or ABC used to do. Pixar is kid friendly which is perfectly in line with what Disney wants.

But eh, I'm not trying to argue. Like I said, my own doubts and misgivings are all from Disney's track record. You could be right and everything turns out a-okay and people are worrying about shit for nothing.

But again, we'll see in the long run. Disney isn't really the company I trust when it comes to adult shit.

Yet they've still managed to push the limits of what is defined as kid friendly, much like what Disney used to do. LOST isn't a controversial, edgy mature story? Wow.

That still doesn't equate to marvel at all. Marvel is a multimillion dollar company that dates back to the late 30s with franchises that span their own toy line, games, and comics. Not a television channel or movie studio. It is it's own beast.

I'll give you "Lost." Good point.

I think this NY Daily News article quote on the story sums up my feelings on this:

"But still, there's this little voice — it sounds a little like Tinker Bell, come to think of it — that says big corporations with valuable, well-established images eventually tend to make all parts of their empire conform to that image."

Dude I already conceded. You win. Just...don't hurt me :(

Dacon doesn't care, so long as you get on your knees for him.

Long-time Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada told fans on his Twitter account: ""Everybody take a deep breath, all your favorite comics remain unchanged," he wrote.

End of story.

I agree with Alex and Dacon, I don't think Disney buying Marvel is so bad. It can lead to lots of new things to go in new directions with, as far as spin-offs and crossovers go and can make for more merchandise ideas too. I'd love to see how this turns out and the source I read this from said Stan Lee was all for it ^^. I have a bit if hope for this.

I already discussed this with Dacon (who brought my hopes down concerning The Runaways, thanks a lot! :@), but I honestly couldn't care less. I stopped caring for Marvel after what they did to Gwen Stacy, Black Cat, the Runaways in general, and just messing with my favorite characters period. This would probably be good for them thanks to how the economy is treating us. I also find it funny how they have Disney and DC has Warner. :awesome:

Overreaction is fun. Marvel gets a shitload of money to fund their lines, and Disney makes some money off their products.

Marvel has already said their books will go untouched, and as a result of this whole debacle they're going to have improved marketing, and hopefully Spectacular Spiderman will get another goddamn season.

Geez.

I'd like a Deadpool crossover with Mickey in a movie or game some day. They would make an excellent buddy cop team.

This reminds me of when KH was announced and people shat themselves going on about how their childhoods were raped.

I actually find this kind of exciting, even if it is for possible Marvel-themed rides at DisneyLand sometime in the future :monster:

Also, agreed with everyone who's been saying Disney would probably be careful in not fucking this up. It seems to me that they're trying to drawn in profit one of the few markets they don't have much of an establishment in (at from what I can tell, I doubt Disney makes the same kind of killing off the comic book market as they do from say, movies or tv shows). From what it seems, they're simply trying to bring in NEW consumers under their monopoly, not trying to convert their already established buyers to a market they may be unfamiliar with.
