I can see this going well. (no really) Deadpool/Logan is a bounty hunter and Mickey Mouse is a by the book sheriff, together they team up to battle <insert genric villain/Marvel villain> to save the Princess/Mayor's daughter. Without going in another castle and all. And I can see Deadpool scoring with Giselle. YES!!! YESS!!!!!

I heard a bit of a BBC news report last night on NPR. While it was reported that this news is 'exciting', I personally dread what shall happen to Marvel's copyrights.

Again, like with Square Enix, is a mixing of two worlds that I believe is totally inappropriate.

Mickey Mouse if fine, with Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy; not fine - again my opinion only - with the X-Men.

Updates

UPDATE #1: In a conference call, the companies said that the deals for movies for characters at other studios (Spider-Man, X-Men, etc.) will stay in place under the terms set by Marvel and the other studios.

UPDATE #2: John Lasseter met with Marvel last week about a possible team-up between Marvel and Pixar and got "pretty excited, pretty fast." They say there's definitely an opportunity there.

UPDATE #3: The deal with Paramount Pictures to distribute five films--"Iron Man 2," "Thor," "Captain America," "The Avengers" and "Iron Man 3"--stays in place as well, but Disney would like to self-distribute down the line. "When the time comes we'll take a closer look at it."

Sounds all good to me.

You know, Disney could still make kid friendly stuff off of Marvel without hurting everything else. I mean Marvel themselves have already ventured into the kid realm in the past. I remember reading an issue of Mary Jane once. About Mary Jane when she was still in middle school/high school or whatever, with normal preteen drama just ripe for little girl stories, and then every once in a while Spiderman, who was also the same age in this story, just pops in.

Something like that didn't ruin the more mature stuff, if anybody even noticed it's existence.

Also owning a company and branding it are two different things. Disney may own it but it'll probably remain it's own brand, ergo nobody will even notice, and Disney's image won't be "tarnished".

lol It was during my Spiderman obsession because I loved the show, and the one comic my mom decides to subscribe me to was Barbie. I'm not sure why. XD

I still think nothing really bad's gonna come about from this, srsly, Disney made POTC for crying out loud and it was a huge hit. I really doubt they'd allow Disney to control every single aspect of Marvel once the deal is finalized, otherwise they'd be selling out completely while dealing cards under the table. Marvel isn't that stupid, imho and they already make great money too.
