To hell with stupid nostalgia, Cloud should upgrade like everyone else. Quit fapping to the shiny colors. What type of logic is that? Omnislash Ver. 6 is just another ultimate move like everything else. Add it to his skill set and to hell with it. He needs more updated moves if he's going to be anything more than just a tweaked out clone of his previous incarnation from the previous game, ffs.

Everyone gets an updated moveset based on their character. I'd be more than pissed if they left out one of his attacks because of some vague, bizarre reason as "its too awesome to use while you play him." I'd look at the game designer as if he were tweaked out on meth.

How do you really feel? :awesome:

Seriously though, what kind of move would you want it to be then? Hp branch? EX Burst? What?

It should replace Omnislash Version 5, honestly. Just like it replaced Omnislash Version 5 in the game. :monster:

It'd be nice if that could be reflected in the game that's chronologically later in the series but oh well.

I suppose him downgrading a move could be explained away by Cloud's inability to remember his previous cycles, aka the 12th war, in the first game(?)

Takahashi: The concept was DDFF wasn't just to add new characters. There are more new characters than Lightning and Kain, but there's also many other new additions and elements to the game to give it a new feel
With the Assist system, Takahashi asked to make the battles more interesting
There are parts where strategies from the first game won't work this time, and EX blocking has been scrapped. There's added another system for beginners. They're careful not to make such a big divide between beginnings and core players.
All the characters from the last game are included, so it's reaching the limits of the UMD's storage space.
Kain's concept is 'Position Maker'. Opinions were divided with the debuggers, some saying he was too strong and other that he was hard to use, so he's a unique character.
Lightning's concept is 'Paradigm Commander'.
There's an overall adjustment ongoing due to the introduction of the Assist system, with the staff presently playing among themselves as they work on the fine tuning.

Nomura: There's no character who is not involved in the story. The main focus will be on the new characters. It will show what happened to the characters who didn't appear in the first game.

Wow, this just made me a hell of a lot more excited. Especially what they said about Kain, seems to me like he's shaping up to be a more mobile Exdeath of sorts, in that you can't just mash your way through a fight and not die.

I thought they were just gonna pretend like the new characters who don't show up in the next war vanished into nothing, so it's somewhat encouraging to hear they'll explain it to some
Please don't let the explanation be that Kain, Lightning, et al just vanished into nothing...

I know I bitch a lot about Dissidia's story (because it was shit) but I'm honestly excited for this. Given the fact that since the bad guys wins, there's so much they actually can do it could potentially be interesting.

Didn't the warriors who couldn't make it to the next round go to the Underworld?

Spoiler alert: They died. :awesome:

I was kind of suspecting that the focus would be on Lightning, Kain, Tifa, and any other new characters. Nice to have that confirmed.

They must've had a unique sort of death though, because usually when you die in Dissidia, you just get revived once the new war starts up.

In regards to Gabranth, he failed epically against Shantotto and Chaos decided to leave his ass in the underworld.

I don't see Cosmos being such a bitch, so it'll be interesting to see how Cosmos lost so many of her warriors permanently.

Didn't the first game say that they were the last warriors remaining? So couldn't the new characters in this game have died, come back with everyone else, and then died again before Dissidia 1 starts?

OR, could this be the same cycle as Dissidia 1, and only the new characters are going to die?

No, we saw the start of Dissidia's cycle. That was the opening. This is a different cycle. The one before it. Nomura states it clearly that this is the cycle that occurred before the last one in Dissidia 1.

Kuja and Jecht weren't Warriors of Cosmos in Dissidia.

Tifa's "assets" are still as impressive as ever.

Now, this here is a new arena. It's a stage obviously, but what I took notice of is the trap doors and the fact the sky seems to tell us the stage is set somewhere high-up. I think it's flying - I think it's the Prima Vista, the FF9 theater ship.

It might be that they don't have the strength to keep summoning them back, that both sides were on the verge of full defeat, and only Manikins- being untied to the power of the gods- really gave the Chaos side the edge.

Tifa's eyes aren't red. They're the same weird hue they were in AC :/

They're still humping that shitty design change.

By "weird hue" you mean brown? I never saw her eyes as that strikingly red during the game anyway. I always kinda assumed they were brown (I know in her character art they're red), but it never drew my attention during the game's scenes.

Mako eyes not glowing always bothered be more, frankly.

Her eyes are not brown. They're too yellowish. Brown eyes are Darker than that too. In some light they can look black.

Her eyes were obviously red in the game, combat artwork and cutscenes(especially during the end). Even in before Crisis' artwork she has red eyes, but not the rest of the compilation for some bizarre reason.
tifa-render.jpg

Shitty picture, but same red as her gloves. Kind of like a deep red wine color. Her hair is brown(in AC it looks pretty black), not her eyes.

I hope this turns out like the issue with Terra's hair. Tifa without reds eyes ain't Tifa to me. Bad enough they went the more "normal" dolphin tail hair.

Original FF7 design>everything in the compilation.

Mako eyes not glowing always bothered be more, frankly.
This has always been a problem though. Like a bad oversight no one cares about.

I still hold that the Mako eye explanation satisfies Tifa's eyes being sometimes red and sometimes brown (though hell, Eye color CAN change. Mine does every so often.). Mako eyes not glowing all the time doesn't bug me, just so long as they glow when appropriate.

Tifa's eyes in that picture are Hazel eyes, I think. Close to brown, not quite.

I know eye color can change when a person is growing to maturity, and people say it can change with mood but I've never seen this happen so I find it very unbelievable.

That's it, HAZEL. God I suck at remembering color names.
