I think FFVII has enough juice leftfor a remake, and one more sequel to wrap up lose ends. After that, then yeah, they should let it rest.

Though I wouldn't mind seeing some official AU stories, like what if Cloud made SOLDIER for example.

I think they could come up with much better merchandising than they've got right now. I mean, Cloud Cologne or whatever? Please.

I would like to see a Final Fantasy Chess set for starters. White: AVALANCHE, and the pawns would be Tonberries or Moogles or some such. Black, Shinra, and the pawns would be Generic Army Dudes. Knights on both sides would be mounted on either chocobos or motorcycles.

And why don't they sell the promotional advert for BC as a poster? It's a fantastic piece of art. More T-shirts also needed.

What I'd really like to see is something covering JENOVA coming to earth. And the fight between the Cetra. And how exactly the Cetra died and normal people survived. As alot its confusing with the crap translations

We know they were advanced...and they were all over the Planet.


But I think a Anime sort of thing covering it would be good. For some reason I vision them much like the Elfs in LOTR. Looking very fair, being very dignified and looking down on the mistakes of normal man.

A sequel to end it all is all I care about in the FFVII world. Hopefully its a redeeming sequel, which is as gritty as the original game.

This franchise should be put to death as soon as possible. Square have shown themselves utterly incapable of contributing anything good, interesting or likeable to the story, characters and world with hilariously poor movies, pretentious novellas and games that aren't fun and full of unlikeable characters.

I wouldn't trust them to do anything more with the series. They've had more than enough chances at it and ruined it beyond belief. The best thing they can do now is take it out behind the chemical sheds, execute it and never speak of it again. Taking from the experience the profound knowledge that they should stay away from massive multi-game, multi-medium franchises...

I don't know about anyone else but I think Case of Shinra is a mixed blessing. Sqex shows that it can still expand quite a bit on the FF7'verse and characters and do it awesomely, but the fact that they put it in a one-language novella that is almost as good as a footnote to a main entry makes me sad. CoS would have made a better animated short than Case of Denzel (which I found pretty boring, though I know it was necessary). And I'm not just saying that because it turned me into a Rufus/Turks fangirl. I'm not. Really. ()

I'd give a remake (maybe), a final entry, and animated adaptions of all the Cases, if it were up to me. Then I'd put it to rest, because I think one more new entry would be all that's needed to wrap things up, and animated Cases would would make that gap between the OG and AC/C a lot more clear and make the story easier to handle. Fans, out of Japan anyway, shouldn't have to go searching for missing, vital plot points, it should be given to them.

If he'd liked CC, he would've mentioned CC as an exception. Obviously he doesn't think there's anything redeeming about the compilation. And from what I've seen, I have to say I can't necessarily disagree with him. It isn't that much, but I haven't seen anything that makes me feel like I'm missing out on an incredible gaming experience. The fact that they've decided to spread it across as many consoles as possible for the sake of maximising console manufacturers' profits hasn't made me any more enthusiastic about tracking any of these games down.

Whatever flaws FFXIII may have, it more than makes up for them with the lesbians they're hardly comparable to the train wreck that is Before Crisis, Crisis Core and Dirge -- and, yes, in that order of shatitude, Mako, from most grisly to least.

I'm not sure they give a damn about console manufacturers, it always struck me more that they were simply cocky, knowing fans of the series would simply follow the game wherever they put it, allowing them to show off developing for several consoles. (For the record, the consoles they've used so far I already owned) Regardless, yeah I don't like it either.

And I liked Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus, dammit. Do they stand up to their predecessor? Of course not, and that's regrettable, but I still enjoyed them and won't let that interfere with my enthusiasm for that world.

Whatever storyline or continuity fuck ups the Compilation has, I'll give it credit for at least being arsed to make games, instead of thinly veiled interactive movies who's only redeeming aspects are lesbians and transformer summons.

And of course you'd find Dirge of Cerberus the best out of the Compilation, Tres. It's the one that eerily resembles FFXIII the most in terms of its format and scope.
