Are you serious? DoC was poor. The game play mechanics and story were AWFUL. You might criticise FF13 for having too much story, but at least it's a good one.
CC was a little better than DoC, but not by much.

Dirge wasn't that bad, but CC was definitely more fun and enjoyable, and the story was less retarded. Though I admit CC wasn't as good as it could have been either, and it still pales next to the OG. But I don't think anyone was denying that.

To be fair, there are cutscenes for ridiculous shit. For example, there's a cutscene for lightning seeing a motorcycle. You walk up to the motorcycle, and there's a cutscene for her getting on the motorcycle. Shit like that.

I think that's one of the things that makes it work -- they don't shove it down your throat. If they'd done a lesbian story the way they did Squall and Rinoa in FFVIII, even Bexy would probably be saying, "Wow, this sucks."

It's just there and it's obvious, but no one makes a big deal of it.

I went into DoC knowing it was going to be crap, so I didn't rage over it as much as everyone else. It was just meh the whole way through. They should have taken away all the melodrama from the story and left it as Case of Vincent, or something.

Crisis Core had a more interesting narrative, despite the continuity clusterfucks. I still found Weiss/Nero a smidge more interesting than Genesis/Angeal though.

Black Mage is the epitome of evil. If he's not burning orphanges, killing old people, or consuming the souls of children, he's trying to get inside of White mage's pants. In fact its a known fact that the only reason there aren't more villians in FF1 is because Black Mage literally used up all the evil. He onc etook over hell for a short while.
