To me what it displays is so interesting - the narrative of FFVII OG and its Compilation. The OG was Cloud's story, no doubt, but the Compilation made it also Zack and Sephiroth's stories, and I feel that Remake is going to integrate those two very deeply in its storytelling. Which is why we saw Sephiroth so early, and why Zack is (seemingly?) still alive. It also shows to me that the story is going to remain roughly the same, what is pointed at are the big points that the devs don't lose sight of, despite their new additions. This is what they want to highlight with this poster, the story of FFVII and its Compilation, and with the addition of Remake, we can literally see where this is going.

Also seeing old renderings of Barret from AC/C and beyond simply hurts (TAT ) his design is so bad, smh.

Given how they’ve worded everything surrounding this anniversary event, there’s not a single person here who doesn’t think they’ll show Part 2, right? “film your reactions” isn’t something they would just say otherwise. They’re clearly priming everyone up.

I would say I’m not even doubting at that point. I would be very surprised if it wasn’t shown.

If I'm not mistaken, there's also DoC, at least at the bottom of the pic (Barret nooooooooooooooooooo). But yeah, in a sense, that's what I mean, that the Compilation is the story of these three men especially. And that's why there's this focus on them in Remake, since it's supposed to connect everything.

Honestly, This is only going to make me happy, whatever their announcements are:

Ever Crisis? Super excited.
Remake Part 2? Thrilled.

Yeah I don't think we'll even have a release date - I mean I expect it after FFXVI after all. But come on, the parts numbers, you can give it Nomura, I have faith in you Alongside a trailer, definitely. They want people to stream and share their reactions, it's definitely not for TFS lol.

I think we'll get a year, maybe not a definite date but a year.

KH4 didn't get a date at all because it was more a concept/announcement trailer. I don't think Part 2 is still in early stage development at this point in time.

Why is everyone so certain they wouldn't release both XVI and VIIR2 in the same year?

If they are released at different ends of the year then I don't get why they would interfere with each other.

I'm not saying I think it will be next year, just wondering where this reasoning comes from.

It could have worked if FFXVI was scheduled for January-February, but it's a summer game. So people don't expect any other major FF next year, Remake part 2 has to be pushed back. And even if I think they're well engaged into Part 2 development, I don't think it's enough for it to get released this year or even in January next year.

It's simply logical, it can only come after FFXVI, and since it's a summer game, welp.

I guess that makes sense, its disappointing if its the case though because it puts 7R2 as good as 2 years away.

Also FFXIV’s 7.0 expansion could be as early as December 2023 (but more likely first quarter of 2024), and being an MMO, there’s less flexibility in when it can be released since it’s an active service game with cycle expectations to meet. And I doubt the FFVII Remake Part 2 would want to be released near that either.

Yup, the games are telescoping too much, that's why I was disappointed to see FFXVI released only in 2023... It meant 2024 for Part 2 timeframe, alas! The only good news is that it's veryyyyyyy promising so it's not like it's going to be an empty year for us, gamers, but when you see how we are starving right now, two more years is going to be long xD

Also 4 years between parts, especially if they're going for more than three, is less than ideal for maintaining people's interest. I think they should be targeting 2-3.
