DoC Online Multiplayer info???

The sticky'd topic said there would be info available "below", and I see there is none. So....has the information from Online Multiplayer been lost with the rest of ACF?

I'd like to read up on the events leading up to the rise of the Restrictors, and then the plot to bring them down. If anyone remembers anything in detail, please share. Any infos on Argento's fate is also welcome. =D

Well there's a youtube account that has all the cutscenes from the Multiplayer mode on there. If you just search "dirge of cerberus online" you'll find it.

As for Argento's fate, it's unknown. It hasn't been elaborated on.

A brief summation of the plot to bring down the Restrictors was, that Shelke, using her SND, would hack into the mind of new recruits of DG and make them the Tsviet's pawns, and fight Restrictor. Then, when Restrictor was defeated, they would take Restrictor's uniform, put it on another pawn, and have them infiltrate their ranks. Using their new found position, they'd disable the restrictor chips within them so they could fight.

Restrictors apparently don't know what their fellow teammates look like. Shelke would then use her technological savvy to upload a virus into the main computer, take control of it, and thus let Weiss and Nero assume control. Allowing them to finally break free of Deepground.

Are there any that are subtitled on youtube yet? I know there are translations, and there are videos. But it's kind of a pain to keep switching back and forth, haha.

Awesome! Thanks! lol. I could only even find ChaserAqua's that just say "Translation coming later."

Very intersting, although I'm sure we're only getting half the story, but it's better than nothing. :)

The ending is kind of sad, though, poor thing. But still, w00t for FINALLY giving us a female SOLDIER!

Argento's a girl too, so even if the main player wasn't...

And also, I know we've gone over this several times, but could I have a refresher on whether Deepground soldiers are SOLDIERs?

I know it used to be a hospital for SOLDIER's, but is every Deepground person? I mean, they use guns for one which is odd for a SOLDIER. It SEEMS to be setup like the Deepground soldiers are like Shinra troops, Tsviets are SOLDIER with the colored Tsviets being 1st Class. Is that right?

(Also...they must have an overabundance of people down there for all they let the Tsviets and Restrictor simply kill on a whim.)

Lastly, may I reiterate the stupidity that was not putting this on the English release? We got all those 40 bonus missions, why couldn't they include the story? >:(

It's possible she didn't say anything, because Japanese doesn't use pronouns very often :monster: The same line could mean 'she' or 'he'.

Though I don't remember much, so I don't know if she actually said 'she' or not.

There is quite an epic story for the Online mode. As you've heard, it centres around a SOLDIER character who was sent to Deepground for excelling and was targeted by the Tsviet's plan as a possible candidate to be used as a pawn to overthrow the Restrictors. The object of the game was to work your way up through the ranks until you reached the Coloured Tsviet level and challenge the Restrictor of whichever area of Deepground you belonged to (either North, East, South or West). The idea was that the character died after the Restrictor was killed, so that the player would play through the game from a different section in Deepground (and for story purposes kill each of the four Restrictors as it were).

According to those who played the game, it did change from 'she' to 'he' depending on gender, but since it is affected only slightly by the particular grammar used, wasn't much of a problem.

As pointed out by Makoeyes, some of DG SOLDIERs were SOLDIERs from the real world sent there for whatever reason. Some as punishment, others as reward, etc. However, not everyone was. Some people were those who had been experimented on, others born for the sole purpose of being entered into the DG SOLDIER program, others who had been taken there due to injuries sustained in war, some kidnapped due to potential, etc. The DG training regime was much tougher and stricter than a normal SOLDIER regime as it was specifically designed to push the human body to its limits. This was even more so after the Restrictors took charge following the battle that saw the defeat of Ragnarok. Guns were perhaps just part of that, but not all DG SOLDIERs use guns.

Argento is a leading Tsviet but not one of the 'coloured'. She is trusted by the Restrictors and acts as a go between for them and the Coloured Tsviets. Her specific role is to identify and nurture possible Tsviet candidates. She carries a sword and lost an eye in a battle with a Restrictor. Nothing much is known about her officially, but she and Shelke are actively responsible for releasing the H-J Virus into the security system (known as Patricia) which causes the restriction chip in the player character to be void.

The 'Transparent' or 'Colourless' is a reference to her SND ability. The projection of Usher was actually based on a former DG Sniper that went missing in action on a mission during the Wutai War.

Actually, the girl that appears in the flashbacks is supposed to be the younger sister of the player, not the player themselves. When the girl shouts 'big sister', it actually changes to 'big brother' depending on the gender of the character.

Any more questions?

Is this actually canon? Because I thought it was just a theory.

And you forgot to say that she made all the weapons used by the colored Tsviets.

But... Didn't Shelke implant her own memories(of herself being taken by Restrictor) to make the player feel anger towards him, and have the motivation to defy and fight him(the Restrictor)?
And aren't the memories of the player in first person, and the girl with orange hair that appears is, in truth, Shalua?

At least, that's what I heard from some people, at ACF.

No she wasn't. Shelke was implanting the memories of the sister (Shelke) being kidnapped by Restrictor and the player being unable to save her, thus breeding a hatred within the player to want to kill Restrictor and find their sister.

It could work from the perspective of either gender. Besides, that wouldn't make sense, since the character you play has just recently been sent to Deep Ground. They haven't been sent to DG since their childhood.

Also yes, Argento's job is to scout out and train possible Tsviet candidates, like...the playable character, hence why you interact with her and why she interacts with the Restrictors. She did lose her eye in a battle with Restrictor and yes, she did help craft and design the weapons of the Tsviets.

All of that regarding the H-J Virus is true too.

If they knew the H-J Virus can void the chips, why didn't they infect themselfs with the H-J Virus?

And I thought there was a virus inside of Weiss' head? Since if they don't replace a restricter within 3days after desposing him. The virsu in his head would release and kill him.

Sorry, forgot to mention the weapons bit. Everything I've written is canon. The girl that you see is not Shalua, it's Shelke, and the shadow of Restrictor and the gunfire represents her kidnap. Shelke was scouted for SOLDIER for her SND ability, but one of the Restrictors led a secret mission and kidnapped her as she was being taken to Shinra HQ. The gunfire is between DG SOLDIERs and the Shinra Army/Turks who took her from her home. The point is that Shelke makes the player believe they are her older sibling but could do nothing to prevent her kidnap and subsequent pain.

The information came from the data collected or linked on ACF (mostly from Vilaeth/Hitoshura or Suzaku) and from the translated video scripts found on youtube, but some of the more secret stuff came from the 10th Ann Ultimania or Shinra Employee's extensive research into the game.

There is no explanation for the names of either the H-J Virus or Patricia. H-J is dangerously close to Hojo, or could represent a new strand of Jenova's ability? I personally have a theory that the top of the range security was named after the famous scientist who was the mother of Weiss and Nero, but that is nothing more than a musing.

As stated above, not all DG SOLDIERs were SOLDIERs,but those who were would certainly have undergone the Jenova-Mako infusions before going to DG. Beyond a few tidbits of info, not much has been released on the nature of the experiments performed in DG on the people there.

The 10th Anniversary UOG, though, does state that the DG subjects have been put through enough experiments to leave them with a condition that sounds a lot like Mako addiction, because it seems that their suits seem specially designed to line-in a stream of mako for the DG troops.

And since I mentioned it, I'd like to to know what most of the members think of the term "Mako Poisoning" in light of the latest term of "Mako Addiction." I've always thought that Mako Poisoning is what happened when the mind/body is actually overloaded with the stuff (to the point of being poisoned), and that Mako Addiction occurs when the body actually NEEDS Mako to continue functioning normally, like Shelke and the DG troops.

But CC seems to staple Mako Addiction to Cloud's status, which is weird, since he sure as hell doesn't seem like he'd need anymore. I'd just like to hear your thoughts on each term's usage and whether anyone knows if one term or the other has become obsolete with the recent installments.

Also, it'd be real cool if there were a summary of DoC's Online Mode to help clarify some things. There's so damn much we've missed!!!
