The only thing you're doing wrong, imho, is giving too much of a damn about fitting in and seeking some kind of affirmation of your presence (like 'thanks' on your poasts). Giving a damn might well be the cause of your depression too. Relying on affirmation for your personal happines isn't a good thing.
And what Omega says; you'd definitely know if you were unwanted,

Honestly dude, you should just stop worrying so much. Also don't constantly apologize for things you didn't do or you think you might have done. Chances are you haven't done anything. Also be careful where you make topics like this. Some people might take advantage of the information and you don't want that. Sometimes it's good to vent in a private journal though.
Just have fun. Just chillax, sit back, and have a good time. That's all people really want to do here.
If you really are depressed though, might I suggest getting some help. None of us can feel what you're going through so we probably can't properly help. You'd be surprised at what talking to a professional can do. And no that's not an insult, it helped me out greatly and it can probably do the same for you.

Yukari, I've not seen you post in the General section which is where I pretty much linger like a bad fart. Come post in there, it's relaxed. The atmosphere (seems weird saying that about a forum) here is far nicer than ACF, IMO. You haven't done anything wrong, post more, look at the various sections, hell, come over to FFOF and post if you like (although you will be relentlessly pestered for n00dz).
As for being depressed, shit, you ain't the only one. I've been batting that ball since my early teens but I like coming online and talking to people with a similar outlook.

I like you! I personally don't talk to many people very much because I'm shy and afraid that I'm annoying them. So I understand where you're coming from.
I agree with this. I use the internet to escape whatever irl crap I'm feeling. It's probably not the healthiest thing, but it works for me.
Personally I wouldn't avoid coming online though, because when I'm feeling shitty I tend to avoid real life social interaction and if it wasn't for the internet, I'd be alone in a darkened room chewing my hands

Yukari: I'm sorry about your depression, its not a nice thing to go through, but getting yourself upset over stuff like this isn't helping you, in fact it will make you feel worse just for worrying about it, so I'm going to say what many other people have said, relax and don't worry so much about whether you're getting thanked or if people on here like you or not. The fact that you mentioned there are already two people on the forum who you get on well with and can chat to is great in itself.
Also and I promise I don't mean this in a nasty way but you're not going to get on with everyone on the forum and not everyone is going to thank your posts, the same way it works in real life. You don't get on well with everyone you meet and just because one person might find something you say interesting or witty doesn't mean another person will, if that makes sense in relation to what you were saying about being thanked. Don't wait on someone else making the first move either, if you really want to make friends with more people on the forum instead of just seeing familiar faces from posting in similar topics then just even a simple post to them in their visitor message area asking how things are can get the ball rolling
If it also helps, I've been on this forum for a long time now and I can safely say I don't know everyone, nor do I have a very close circle of friends but it doesn't bother me because I'm happy enough to just join in on the topics I like and post my opinion on something, just going with the flow works well enough for me
