Also anyone else look at the character screen and think it's too empty?
I thought that when you got the dlc for the mabari warhound I would yet again have my trusty mutt to maul everything that moved.
Using it as a skill for 30 seconds just doesn't have the same effect *sadfaec*

Merrill is neat but lacks heals which imo should be a standard for any decent mage in the party

Also, Dog iirc is a permanent 'summon' until it is 'knocked unconscious' in battle, after which there is a cooldown before you can resummon him again.

Functionality-wise, it's nearly exactly the same as in Origins aside from the fact that it doesn't have inventory slots you can customize.

Curse renting the game and not having dog. Whicever way you look at it, it's extra dps which therefore makes it that much easier for ya'll.

Also, I believe Dog has one hell of a threat generation in combat, drawing a lot of fire away from mages and supports. It's a godsend for much more than just dps (read: beating the Ancient Stone Wraith on Hard difficulty with 2 rogues and 2 mages, 3 of them ranged, all of them very, very squishy)

It's funny watching how quickly the high dragon pulverised every member of my party only for dog to be standing at the end lol.

Put points into Crushing Prison,
Send bosses packing.

Crushing Prison does jack-shit to end-Act bosses when the point of the spell is to immobilize

Also if it's on Normal, You're Doing It Wrong



although I will admit taking 5 hours of trying to defeat a single boss is a little steep

Had to re-start my warrior class cause I was a fud and never took anders into the deep roads with me and I refuse to let Bethany die.

Rogue class will start as soon as I've completed the game as my mage who is lezzing up Merrill. Why can't they give the option to kill off sebastian?

I tried Normal.

Normal was a fucking cakewalk.

At least in Hard the extreme absurd difficulty spikes are harder to see.
Besides, when I completed Act 1, I quite literally fistpumped my shoulders sore


EDIT: Dacon I think Hawke's boobs are just animated to jiggle like that when she walks in her underpants

The high dragon was more challenging than any other boss in the game IMO lol.

Seriously?

The high dragon got utterly raped on mine. I don't even think anybody died at any point.

The boss at the end of Act 1 smashed my team into seven different kinds of mush.

Second time, I realized what the columns in the room were meant to be used for, derrrrrrp

Rock Wraith decimated my warrior class first time around
As a mage it took less than 5 mins to kill it.

High dragon killed every single party member and left me with the dog and only 1/4 left to take off myself which wasn't bad but it's the most trouble I had playing through the game :-/

Then again I refuse to use Anders cause I think he is an absolute douche.

The High Dragon was the one experience where I could use Anders and not come away feeling like a slimy slimy douche. That fucker has chops.

I think I played through the High Dragon with Varric, Bethany and Fenris and by the end Varric and Bethany were knocked off


But it's actually not hard to beat singular bosses with two dudes because you can just kite
The AI is a little stoopid in the sense that once it goes to attack someone they will chase that someone until they get to swing at them




Also Merrill's rock armor is great and all but it has a dangerous level of threat generation and I think for a mage that becomes pretty useless
(ie. she draws less aggro and takes less damage not using it lawl)


edit: It might be just me, but does the Hanged Man change locations or something for Act 3? o-O I'm not sure if I even noticed the physical location of the tavern once it was on my map :x
