Doom announcement is pretty cool but it's pretty much an open secret at this point.
Thanks to the leak culture we have these days, just like every other secret announcement planned for E3! Zing!

^The Konami jokes are about Konami being a douche and dropping it's own IPs that people wanted to seriously develop. Kojima has little to do with that directly other than the fact he "might" be leaving at the end of this year.

Would be totally ironic if Kojima went on to work with Platinum Games to develop Metal Gear Rising 2 though.

Fallout 4?

The confirmed setting is in Boston, Massachusetts; this confirmed from the trailer released on June 3rd of 2015, as well as Gamespot. It shows the Statue of Paul Revere and the USS Constitution in the trailer as well, along with the Boston State House with its unique Golden Dome. Scollay Square, the Bunker Hill memorial, and Fenway park are also visible in the trailer.
Vault 111 is likely to be somewhere in this region, as it was seen in the trailer. Further, a character wearing the Vault 111 jumpsuit carrying what looks to be a modified laser rifle can be seen meeting a dog and starting on a road leading away from the camera, a motif seen in various previous installments.
The setting will also include mountains and the outlands of Boston's city limits; also Boston contains tall skyscrapers unlike Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

I watched the Fallout 4 trailer, and I can physically feel the hype from fallout fans emanating through my walls from across the globe.

However, that franchise is not my cup of tea. I played Fallout 3 what must have been upwards of 20 times just trying to get into it and I couldn't. I don't like that blonde cartoon thing and the era it represents, I'm not impressed by the environments or the idea, and I utterly utterly hate the whole "there is a 15% chance the dude you need to talk to will be standing beside THIS building to continue your quest!" aspect of the game.

I'm super happy for fans of the series and I appreciate what the game tries to do, but it's not for me.

As for that trailer, I found it graphically underwhelming but I really like what they did with the music and how they structured the trailer in general.

It's basically the 1950s United States, isn't it? I love that era. L.A. Noire was set in 1947 but it had more or less the same aesthetic and that's one of my favourite games. But Fallout games are, ultimately, shooting games and I have never liked shooters. Sadly for me, that rules out about 50% of games ever made.

I could play them if they weren't FPS, too much corridor and spinning around for me. And then developers are like "but immersion!" and I'm like "nausea after 15 minutes of gameplay!"

Which is why P.T. does nothing for me as well, it's unplayable for such a silly developer choice restriction.

I enjoy Fallout, but I'm more of an Elder Scrolls guy myself. I just like the variety in settings and towns, while Fallout necessarily lacks quite a bit of variety. But one way that Skyrim disappointed me was that I was anticipating Fallout 3's extensive dialogue options to carry over and I was bummed that they didn't. So it will be fun to have those again.
