I was never particularly excited for the ES MMO, as my favorite thing about the games is immersion that a bunch of other people being around is sure to break, but it does look exceptionally bland even with that said.

some details about the game in its current ('pre-alpha') state.

Still not impressed. They are going to go for a single server per geographical region, too; which probably means overpopulated areas and high lag during biggish events if the game picks up (or not, lawl), which will probably prevent the trend a lot of new MMO's have seen; (too) high initial demand in the first month, followed by massive deflation and emptying out of their excess of servers and people forced to move. but eh.

Pfft, yet another attempt to cash in on the success of Runescape. When will people learn that they'll never be as amazing as that game? Elder Scrolls? More like Elder Strolls, and you know I hate walking. Probably can't even set up a mining industry in this game.

Runescape was hilariously stupid back when I played it, :monster:

I'd be glad if the Elder Scrolls could get past that on the MMO level, lolo

Relevant. :awesome: Goes to show how funny mundane shit could be :monster:

Hey look moving pictures. Like with the first screenshots, I still think they have the scale wrong; characters look like two-foot stick figures with choppy animation, etc. Combat is MMO-like; fixed timers, semi-turn-based, etc; stand in front of each other, stay still, press hotbar buttons.

Yop, just don't buy MMOs. You obviously don't want anything other than what Eve gives you :monster:

And you can barely get through a normal Elder Scrolls game without complaining of tedium.

I don't know. For some reason killing ten rats in Skyrim is addicting. Oh wth?!

I fear for my social life, my soul and my shaved legs if I get into this mmorpg. ><

@Force: I don't know. Skyrim was fairly non-tedious for me. Actually, that's the first TES game where I didn't have to worry about training skills and instead just played the actual game.

Of course, with the other games, there's always modding if you want to go that route. Which can never happen with a MMO.

lol for the longest time I had a "COLLECT TEN BEAR PELTS FOR TEMBA WIDE-ARM" or something. ur lier, :monster:

Granted, you could mitigate that by just going somewhere to buy ten bear pelts, but still lol

I don't find Elder Scrolls tedious. Yop does 'cuz he's elitist :monster:

I don't find Elder Scrolls tedious either, but the MMO will be, :monster:

Okay maybe Skyrim is a bit tedious, but I mainly blame that on the pacing and the moments you get quests and the like and how they end up being a giant list of random stuff you picked up (but don't remember where or how) and need to tick off. I wouldn't mind a bit more linearity when it comes to quests in Skyrim myself.

Not going to be impressed until they show us actual gameplay...

And Merunus Dagon should have known better than to try to invade Tamriel in Oblivion as Molog Bal is trying to do the same thing in the trailer and TESO is taking place a whole Era before Oblivion. Yeah...

*goes back to playing Skyrim in HD*

Apparently, it won't require PS Plus for PS4. But there's nothing on whether you need a Gold subscription on Xbone. I'm suspecting you'll need the subscription and the actual subscription for the game. So you'll pay ... to pay to play. :monster:

I played the beta for a while, I actually enjoyed it.

I think they've changed how the character controls slightly compared to skyrim, it felt a little strange to begin with, sensitivity wise maybe.

The voice acting is incredible, John Cleese and Michael Gambon were heard within the first 5 mins of gameplay.

Yeah more then most likely.

To date the only games that did not require XBL Gold to play online were Final Fantasy XI and Phantasy Star.
The biggest reason was not that they were subscription based games but that Microsoft was trying very hard to get more Xbox 360's into Japanese homes.
