Booked a meal for tonight a couple of weeks ago, so missed the game. Will have to do the same for Wednesday and (hopefully) next Sunday after how tonight’s game went! :)

That was miserable. English supporters booing Denmark, trying to blind Denmark's keeper with a laser, and a the cheapest penalty you'll ever see. As much as I hate Italy's team I'm now hoping they win.

Edit: Sterling is genius for being able to create penalties like that, gotta give it to him. By doing so he sent England to the finals. I'm just salty right now. I prefer football when it's less booing and diving and you know... more actually playing football. That Denmark goal was true beauty.

Well, at least Italy and England deserve each other :monster:

May I ask why you dislike Italy's team? While they weren't good in the last match, their results during the tournament were pretty solid and consistent I think.

I find Italy entertaining to watch if only for the Razzy Award winning performances every time they get tackled :monster:

^ this, that is why :monster: Football is not played lying down

Also, it just reminds me of how horrible travelling in Italy is. Fine you're done with tourists but can the public railway not scam me kthxbai

never again

Edit: Okay I know that has nothing to do with football, it's just the way the team behaves reminds me of how uncivilised Italy can be. After going there with my ex 10 ish years ago we kept referring to it as a third world country after coming back and I've been unable to stop since x) (I should note I've been both to the north and south)

Probably wasn’t a penalty (though Kane’s should have been earlier imo), but it wasn’t a free kick for Denmark’s goal either. Denmark looked good in possession but never looked like scoring in open play. They ran out of steam pretty early on, and looked like they were playing for penalties.

Considering how many times we’ve been on the receiving end of terrible refereeing decisions in big games over the years, I’m not going to feel too bad about getting one in our favour for once... :)

EDIT: Also, Italy’s anthem is God tier. If anyone boos it on Sunday, I will personally track them down and Omnislash them.

Same mistakes we made against Croatia. Score the early goal, dominate for 20 minutes or so, then sit back and let the other team camp in our half. Most disappointing thing is that we didn’t learn our lesson from that game.

I don’t blame the players who missed penalties, takes a huge set of grapefruits to step up in a shootout of that magnitude. Also don’t blame Southgate for the choice of penalty takers, they’d obviously done well at them in training to be picked.

If we’d kept our foot on the gas, it may have been a different story. As it is, Italy were deserving winners, both tonight and over the course of the tournament.

Hopefully, we can push on from here and give it another good go in the World Cup. Players like Foden, Mount, Sancho and Bellingham should only get better as they gain more international experience. Just sucks that it feels right now that we won’t get a better chance to win a major tournament...

Totally deserved win. Facepalmed hard with the first gol happening at 2 minutes, but the match was quite balanced, with Italy dominating a bit on the 2nd half.

Chiesa, Jorginho, and Dommaruga were the stars.
