That's an incredible story. :monster:

Seriously somebody who took plenty of screens should post that up on a video game magazine, sounded pretty epic. Damn you guys have the most fun, I really need to get into a corp that does more PVP and exploration stuff.

I did consider streaming it, but, intel and shit, :monster:. Also my computer's becoming unstable, and apparently today's an "Let's give yop an unstable internets connection" day, :monster:. I think I got into eve for the first time after reading some stories on the interwebz from some blogger.

Yeah I guess they would count that as quite a security leak, big corp like E-uni.

I think that we should make Satsu play more and form a corporation between the four of us (once Russell has come aboard.)
We can finally fulfil that desire everybody has on the forum to form a guild with the forum crew. Maybe it would even encourage more people here to try EVE out.

I was gonna say, that would be pretty neat, :monster:. Timezones and play times would be an issue though.

Last night I dreamed about getting kicked from the uni for stealing other people's wrecks, :(. Which I did, actually; after last night's event, people went to the night before's event site (Cube of Death) to do some pvp. When I came back there an hour or so later, there was nobody there... but there were a dozen wrecks or so, filled with stuff like T2 equipment and faction ammo, :awesome:. Probably worth 10 - 20 million or so.

I think timezones wouldn't be an issue personally. We all have weird times and days that we log on so they will overlap here and there quite a lot. :monster:

Also we could recruit and boss about new players and stuff.

I'm pretty regular in terms of game times, so no u, :monster:. Maybe the weekends are most flexible for me.

Also, boss around? You mean abuse to make billions, then kick out of the corporation and make fun of, :monster:.

I like your idea of creating female characters and using men's natural weaknesses to please in order to acquire shittons of items and moneyz. Then laugh at them for being gullible and desperate wankers, :monster:.

Why would you laugh at them when you can continue the cycle? There is no limit to what one can acquire :monster:

And yes I like this too. Billions would look great in my EVE wallet.

Mmm, billions. I wonder if I can go "Oh noes halp, my subscription is about to run out and I'm out of monies!". I could add something sexist / stereotypical like "I spent it all on shoes, hihi ^_____^". Optionally some flattery, like "My, what a big ship you got there! Can I touch it? ^__^"

...I'm not helping the sexism and demographic ratios in gaming much, am I? :monster:

Have a nice trailer of in-game footage from the game event that took place last week, also showing off the Eve / Dust integration. I really like the concept, a bit like Battlefield on steroids, except instead of hopping into a fighter jet you hop into a Titan. Then again, one does not simply hop into a Titan.

I can't wait any longer and I'm going to buy my first battleship.

What battleship are you getting? If you happened to be after a Megathron I'd give you mine for free. :monster:

A Maelstrom, actually. I don't mind donations to the cause, :monster:. As it turns out, I've been running L3 missions (+ salvaging) for weeks now. WTF am I doing with my time. Speaking of, once I can do L4's, I should look into doing other / cool stuff. Maybe incursions, if e-uni runs those frequently / when I'm around. Alternatively I could quit them and go low/nullsec, or become a pirate and go yarrr a lot. Or just steal people's salvage or something.

Gonna need at least T2 guns if you're gonna rock the incursions. Definitely worth it though as you're nabbing 100mil/hour. I've cancelled my sub so I'll jump on at some point and send you some cash. :monster:

Oh neat, :monster:. I'll never have to work for my moniez ever again, :monster:

Also yeah, Incursions are like a lvl up from L4's or even L5's, and iirc can only done in groups. Biggish PvE fgj.

Yeah Incursions are comparable to raids, in a traditional MMO. There are different levels that go into an incursion though. Like the base stuff is taken care of by many groups of five all doing different missions/clearing different areas. Then it steps up and you need bigger groups, then bigger and bigger until you have like a hundred people or something at the end.

EDIT: Sent you a little money. Not a whole lot given that I want options if I do end up coming back to EVE in the near future. Consider yourself 300,000,000 richer.

I had about 300KK, but it took me weeks (three or so?) to save up for that. Thanks, I shall happily spend it on big ships tonight, :monster:. And let me know if / when you return and my account is still active or can be reactivated for free (they occasionally hand out free days for former subscribers), I'll return the favor :monster:

I might get back to playing when I can afford the subscription. I'm at a point where I can make the ISK to pay for the sub but then I don't have anything left over to actually buy stuff. I'd love to get back into it soon though. :monster:

So you can now pay for an eve online subscription via Steam.. how interesting. :shifty:

Not to sure how it works exactly.
Also A new expansion called Odyssey is out today.

So any of you Eve Elites want to break down the new expansion for us muggles?

[Edit]
Train skills on two characters on one account using Plex
Shiny new ships

The main thing (and referred to indirectly in the title) is that they overhauled the Exploration job / activity, streamlined it, made it more accessible, and gave it more depth. Scanning is less tedious (all drones are launched at once) and easier to use (pre-set formations, all drones can be moved at once in that formation instead of manual), and the UI for scanning is a bit more obvious - scan strength is shown as a progress bar of sorts, and iirc you're able to see history and probably move your drones back to where they were.

Also, whenever you enter a system or exit a station, a scanner sweep is done automatically, to point out weak signatures (exploration sites) and the anomalies that get instantly 100% (pve combat sites, pirate / drone hubs and the like).

Exploration site running has been enhanced, some tweaks / changes made to looting, and they added a minigame to both hacking and that other thing (archaeology / scanning?).

Further improvements include an attempt to improve immersiveness; they changed something to the music and what plays when / where, and they've reduced 'sudden' changes and loading bars when undocking (animated undock icon), using jump gates (fancy ZOOM YOU GET BLOW THROUGH IT YAAAAY animation), when about to die (better visual clues your shields / armor / hull is down), when dying ('pod ejecting' animation of sorts), and when really dying (zooms in on your frozen corpse and gives you a visual hint your clone is being activated, instead of suddenly dumping you back in a station which usually makes anyone go WTF WHAT HAPPENED when getting smartbomb'd).

Another new trade / money-making / criminal opportunity is that you can get special items from special NPC's / pirates, which can be used to increase your security status - or be sold / traded on the market. This'll probably eventually cause more highsec crimes happening though. And moar money made by some, :awesome:.

Finally, new ships and whatnot (or, new variations of existing ships), some rebalancing, and a ship skill rebalancing / rework; battlecruisers and destroyers (and maybe battleships? I don't recall) now all have a racial variant, and flying a class of ship now has more prerequisites to avoid or flatten out people training up to fly big ships without actually being able to do anything with it (this is me, lulz). People that trained racial frigates to 3 and Battlecruisers to V got a shitton of free skill points (we're talking 7.5 million SP here, which is like 5-6 months worth of SP), because CCP isn't taking the ability to fly a certain ship from existing players. I decided not to train up for that, would've occupied my training for like two months and I wasn't sure I'd still be playing by then. Eh. I'm still not crosstraining into other races, so fine by me.

I should glance at it for a bit before heading off.

So I got the steam version a few weeks ago, "member for 19 days" apparently.

I've done the first tutorial missions and moved up to a Destroyer class ship, off to do the first epic story ark now. I've got the skillz for Cruisers, but not the 20 million cash. What are the Best/worst Cruisers anyone?
I'd imagine that this comes down to opinion or play-style, but surely there are Cruisers that are univerally hated/loved.

On a side note, where the hell has the jukebox gone!? I liked loading in my own songs and Pew-Pewing things to Sinatras "Fly me to the moon" :monster:
