Fantastic Four movie (2015)

In Comics the things they deal with are pretty great and it sucks as a team they aren't popular because the stories they have are really great.

If Marvel/Disney had access to them I can guarantee you they would have used the FF over the Guardians of the Galaxy to segue the Cosmic side of the franchise into the MCU. They could have also used them greatly to help out Thor in phase 1 in that regard as well.

But as a whole I agree the actual Team has always been very boring to me. I just love what the over all stories . characters and set pieces they bring to the Universe and not so much the actual Fantastic Four.

Galactus is tied up with F4 rights...Galactus is a pretty big deal, right? Just thinking, could make a good cosmic big bad for after MCU is done with Thanos...

For being a pretty whatever team, they've got Galactus & Doom -- both of whom are some pretty badass villains for bigger-scale conflicts and unfortunately can't get into the MCU 'cause of that. That being said, I think that having the MCU only have access to certain properties actually helped refine it into something much stronger than it'd have been if they had everything to draw off of. (i.e. it provided a forced structure).

Yeah its heart breaking to see Dr. Doom continually just totally let down I guess. Such a great character that is equal parts awesome and ridiculous (I mean hell his armor has pieces of The Cross that Jesus was crucified in case he has to fight vampires lol ))

And the other cosmic characters that are tied up on the Fox end could have also been wonderfully done and taken to interesting places in the MCU.

I have to agree though that the restrictions in place for the MCU due to licensing has helped it out greatly. As I stated earlier I think if Marvel had FF we would not have gotten GotG and well GotG was great so its definitely helped in that regard

Article details that this is basically all Fox's fault. Even the supposedly boring version that didn't test well was their fault.

I think there were rumors about Trank behaving irresponsibly, showing up on set high and stuff. If that was true, I can see why they would try and take the movie away from him.

i read the same rumors on reddit. Though I went the other way with it and thought he may be showing up drunk/high after they took control away from him.

Could easily go either way if its true though.

Um... Ant-Man will show you how to do that.

Once again, Marvel is showing you up -- even when things don't go 100% according to their plan.

I thought the exact same thing. Also IIRC Superman 2 did the same thing back in the day and that's because 80% of the movie was already shot, most of it was scrapped AND Gene Hackman refused to come back for reshoots since he already fulfilled his contract for the movie.

There really is no excuse imo.

While it sounds a lot better than the finished product, which isn't saying much. It still isn't a particularly good script either, it still isn't properly embracing what the Fantastic Four are in the comics.
