I will say that right now is a good time to do some missions. Right at the start of chapter 2.

Doing missions gives you good prizes to make the game easier. Specifically, mission 4-1-5 (that's the fourth mission option from the top, then the first selection of that category, and then the fifth one of that series) gives you the coveted Barrier materia. Which will be sooo helpful for a good part of the game.

Also, make sure to explore around Midgar and meet everybody :monster:

I've only had access to one so far, the tutorial one.

Yep, will do. Are missions the primary means of obtaining materia?

Just got a bunch of missions. Will do them

By all means enjoy these, I just want to point out that the game will positively vomit missions at you, and if you try to approach it like a completionist, it will burn you out (not to mention make you absurdly overpowered in the main game). There are certain strings of missions that have some plot relevance that I'm sure people here will make you aware of, and obviously as long as you're having fun, you should do as many as you like. I'm just telling you to not feel like you have to do all, or even a majority of them to get the best CC experience. :monster:

Should I tackle the very hard missions or leave them for later?
