I dunno, his obsession with revenge being COMPLETELY MISPLACED.

He does improve though, I'll admit. As the game went one I found myself liking him more as I liked Vanille less, who didn't mind at first.

Hope - shipping just isn't right, what is wrong with people. T_T Lightning and Vanille are like, the freaking babysitters for him. Since I got curious, I decided to look on Youtube for Lightning x Hope and read the description to see what people's reasons were.
YES I AM SICK, ETC; but in all honesty, I like their fanart and I don't see anything entirely too horrible about it. Maybe it's the fact that I grew up with a female audience drawn to the wonder that is shota, but nevertheless, at least Hope isn't sporting cat ears and a tail. :I

But I'm a Yaoi fangirl and I think it's gross. D:

Then you're just not a true believer.

Seems Vanille and Fang are pretty tight. There's a whole bunch of yuri fanfiction that's gonna come from this game, you know that right? I'll also call SnowxHope as a yaoi pairing that people will inexplicably jump on. Write that down, SnowxHope will be very popular.

Damn I'm good. :awesome:

This would have bothered me more if he hadn't been an interesting and useful character in the meantime. As it was, though,
he and Lightning had something going on (no, not like that), he's the reason she comes out of her shell, he knows how they need to get through Palumpolum, and it's his insight that makes Lightning abandon her own single-minded mission.

I also thought his confrontation with Snow was done well.
He didn't just try to kill him, but it seemed like he was asking him questions in the hope that Snow would tell him something that would change his mind about wanting to.

Serah Farron said:
Doesn't it just make you want to RIP HER CLOTHES OFF AND HAVE SEX WITH HER.

Only rip off enough to get done what needs to be done. At the least, the stockings/boots must stay on. Meanwhile, that white shirt is just asking to be torn off, and her neck is begging my fingers to wrap around --

Oh, hai, guys. :monster:

He still DID try to kill him though. And, no, the scene wasn't bad, but he had over 9000 chances to do it earlier but just stuttered and worked on his wrist scars.
I ALSO enjoyed some of the comments Snow was making before he knew, "Its only a bad idea if you get yourself killed," etc. But that still doesn't prevent Hope from being an annoying little pussy who puts the blame on Snow for some weird freaking reason rather than the people that blew the bridge up in the first place.

And why's he hate his dad so much? His dad seemed perfectly normal to me.

Some of the comments that Snow made before the confrontation had me screaming at the TV. I think I actually shouted OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO about 10 times.

Also @Tres, why don't you take a seat over there?

IAWTC.

Also,
he thinks his dad breaks all the promises he makes to him and his mum and doesn't care about them and just doesn't feel that close to him and isn't bothered if he's not around because he likes it better when he's not/is a teenager.

I felt this exact same way about him at the beginning of the game, that he was working on his 'wrist scars' as you phrase it. xD But
Consider the fact that he's a fourteen year old boy, a kid who is strongly attached to his Mother. He's going to need someone to blame. I think in that scene he says "I have to blame someone" or am I thinking incorrectly? XoX The fact that Snow admits to it probably just confirms it more. Like, Lightning tried reasoning with Hope too, saying that Snow didn't kill his parents, you know? If someone that close to you dies, you're not going to listen to reasoning. It's like Sasuke in Naruto who became obsessed with killing Itachi, after his family was killed. It's just like that, because rage can blind you. xD

And killing someone is a BIG DEAL. Especially for a kid so young, that seems to be used to depending on someone like his Mom. So I don't blame him if he's hesitant to take a human life.

As for his Dad, I thought he was a pretty nice guy! Lol. I'm guessing from the dialogue that he wasn't around much. He was probably one of those Dad's that was always off at work, or a Dad that didn't talk much. That's why Hope probably got the impression that he didn't care. I'm sure Hope and his Mother went through some hard times, or have struggled and he wasn't there to support them, or w/e. He's probably they type that isn't very affectionate, so here's this young kid wondering if his father loves him or not- which he clearly does. My Dad is the same way in the sense that he's not very sensitive.

Edit: I just read Hito's post. So yeah. :monster:

"Has to blame someone." Yeah, but why Snow? Did he not see the giant PSICOM gunship that blew up the bridge she fell off? Did Snow not hold onto her as well as he could? He ended up falling anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered if he did hold onto her. (She also died before dropping...)

I'm not saying he should think logically over the death of his mother. But if some guy fired a gun at someone I cared about. And someone else leapt in front of that person but the bullet passed through and killed the person I cared about anyway...why would I blame the person that tried to save him/her? That doesn't make even the slightest bit of sense.

Yes, Lightning does tell him that PSICOM killed her, not Snow, and the pussy doesn't listen. It's not like its a case of from his point of view it looked liek Snow killed her when it was actually someone else. It was very clear what happened from where he was standing.

Maybe Snow
accepting volunteers to fight was part of the reason Hope blamed him. Yeah, it was a couple of the deportees who initially volunteered, but then Snow asked if anyone else wanted to.

Of course, it only makes sense that people in that position would -- and, in fact, should -- want to fight ... but that brings us back to Hope not thinking rationally, which even knows he wasn't.

That's another one :monster: He would go to work a lot, and the only conversations he'd have with Hope were superficial things like "how's school?/are you studying?"

see, I keep thinking that Snow/Serah is supposed to be sort of a foil to Fang/Vanille. Serah and Snow are perfect and wonderful and happy and loli, whereas Fang and Vanille have actual problems that Vanille just isn't sure how to solve, but she would rather die than have Fang go through any pain.

idk, Fanille seems like a better, more realistic Snow/Serah.

And setting all that aside...Fanille gives us the third FF lesbian pairing so it is automatically better regardless of the dynamics. :monster:
