If I some how manage to get the whole process going anytime soon. I want people to know I may need some extra hands to QC (Quality Check) the release. All that would be required of you is knowledge of the English Language, ability to access FTP and IRC, and a relatively fast internet. Preferably around 3-5MB/s or in bytes (300kb/s - 500kb/s). PM me if you're interested and qualify.

Hey dudes, this is probably a horribly stupid question, but since I'm pretty much a computer retard, please bear with me a moment...

I downloaded one of the 720p torrents and everything almost seems to work good, but I'm having a problem with the sound and the video; they don't exactly match up. The sound gets like a few seconds ahead of the actual visuals. I guess it isn't that big of a deal, it's just really annoying...

So anybody have any words of advice or anything? I'm not really sure what to do at this point. :(

I'm just waiting for my damn disc to arrive so I can watch it on my huge ass TV. How long does it usually take?

Mako: Eh, knowing my luck... :shifty:

it was the 954 MB file from DATorrents...

I Guess in order to fully watch it, I'll probably just have to wait until either Youtube puts it up or I get a Blu Ray Player (God knows how long THAT will take). Fuck... :hohum:

Holy shit, that must be compressed to hell and back.

There are a lot of compression artifacts and shit, aren't there?

Naw. Compressing an over 8 gig movie to 954 MB is going to seriously fuck up the quality, and more than likely, the quality of the entire file.

It's not just your computer :monster:

^My theory must be correct then, lol. My computer has to be a piece of shit... :flipmonster:

But seriously though, how can I tell if this Blu Ray rip is too much for my computer to handle properly?

When it's doing just that. The video pauses for a few seconds but the sound keeps going. And then you pause it to try realign but it does it again anyway. My desktop was like that.

**EDIT**

Nevermind, I'll just quit being a cheap ass and buy a Blu Ray player. I gotta wait, but meh, June isn't that far (Atleast that's what I'm telling myself, lol). It's too much effort trying to upgrade my computer to anything less than shit. Thanks anyways, guys. :)

A video's quality is mostly dependant of 2 factors (but not the only ones):
Resolution (The size of the video; 720p, 480p, 1080p)
Bitrate (The filesize of the video)

If the video was really shitty it's probably because of lowbitrate or usage of old shitty codecs like XVID. Lots of people on the interweb who call themselves encoders tend to wash out a lot of detail :( Which is unfortunate for people trying to watch it.

Is XVID old, then? I was under the impression it was still actively developed and pretty up to date, :monster:.

Also, a loss of synchronization can either mean your computer's too slow (if the image stutters often especially), or that you don't have the right codecs (or they're poor). But I can't be sure, I'm no expert on the matter.
