Final Fantasy IX Coming to PC/iOS!!!!!!!!

Abortedj

The Crawling Chaos
AKA
Abortedj, The Offender, Abortedjesus, Testicules,
After doing more research I have found solution that will make the stick work. Solution that will make the D-pad work. There is no solution that will allow both to work.

But I am hearing that they didn't fuck up FF9 the same way. So at least they learned from their mistake. Not sure why they are so lazy about patching 7 to fix the problem.

The stick works normally in VII while the dpad doesn't. If you use xpadder to map the controller dpad inputs to the keyboard arrow controls, both the stick and the dpad will work.

Enough about VII's controls though XD.

I'm up to the tunnel through Qu's Marsh to the outer continent - I'd forgotten how long this game takes before you leave the first continent, it's so weirdly different from both VII and VIII because in some ways in those games it feels like that's where the game begins whereas in FFIX you don't even leave the continent until halfway through the second disc, and it's the third disc before you even get a boat XD.

Just done Qu's Marsh too, and just preparing to learn some abilities before hitting the grotto. Really loving the enhanced sprites (which look very beautiful). Though I'd forgotten how bloody long the ATB takes to charge up! And I've had a few Game Overs already through being a little careless.

Oh btw I did Tantarian 1st try with the timer and even managed to get the Demon's Mail!

I've done this once before on PS years and years ago, but it's a little easier now since playing at 5x speed doesn't affect game timers so you can minus strike - steal steal steal steal steal - minus strike - etc until you've got it.

What I will say though, is that the timer STILL went all the way to 12 minutes before I got the mail. Obviously on normal FFIX I'd never have nabbed it in that run.

I'm kinda pissed off because I'm 7/8 for the Stiltzkin achievement and I bought his items every time - but apparently the counter didn't go off once because I had 99 of one of the items. I can speedrun it easily, but it's annoying because technically this means my playthrough isn't 100% and I've been using speedup to get Excalibur II. The game clock is 10 hours and I've done everything prior to memoria. Anger.

It's alright, I'm probably gonna do a cheaty speedrun today to fire through the game and mop up a few achievements I didn't get.

Finished the game last night, did everything, got Excalibur II. I even had time to learn every character's abilities, got all the ragtime mouse questions, friendly creatures etc. The speedup makes everything possible XD.

I did the eidolon wall thing too, since there's an achievement for that.

Might be around.

If I was doing and under 12 hour run, that and the no encounters reduces hours of time from the game.

Only thing is with the Hi-Speed, it's not optimized with the FMVs like VIII was so they get all glitch-y and skip around.

Anywho I'm enjoying the game so far, half way through the second disc. I did the Grand Dragon which was a bitch of a boss fight and I got a ton of levels. The blood sword is OP, and I got Marcus to level 22, because I found out about how Marcus's stats transfer over to Eiko's even though I have no clue who that character is yet.

It's the same with the FFVII speedup on PS4, I'm glad they did it that way.

I don't understand why the Hi-Speed isn't on the PC version. Wish they would put it on there. I'd be so helpful
