Why is my post showing up twice when I clearly deleted one?

I have been pining for this game because it's the only one that has hope because lol Versus is just never going to ever release within the next two years and then they pull this one? srsly nao?

They will release. This is just strategy; they want people to go all nuts: "OMG it won't be released!" and when it is, people will go nuts again: "OMG it was released, let's buy it!!1!!11!!!" (yes, the "1" were on purpose).

So far, I personally have no doubts they'll release it, and explain it that they're being so nice to western gamers for releasing the game just because we deserve it for our loyaly, or some sh*t like that. But they know they're releasing it.

However, sadly, I think this means the translation will take time, so we may not see it until november/decembre 2011, or even 2012.

Damn, I wanted to complete the game before FFXIII-2 came out; but I have too many things to play now, so maybe it's better if I don't have the game on summer :sadpanda:

I honestly have no doubts that they're going to release it here or in Europe/Australia and all those places. I guess that's why statements like this annoy me. What's their point?

If their point is just to say that the NA version won't release until a few months after the Japanese version, then just say it.

Doesn't it usually go that way anyway? Or have recent Square games been releasing at the same time lately?

Well iirc Dissidia 012 was fairly close, and they had said they wanted to start closing the gap between releases. I think Dissidia 012 was the first game that had very close dates. (Maybe FFXIII, I can't remember)

I didn't know/remember that. I wish this game was out sooner though :/ I need a reason to use my PSP again.

^ Get Final Fantasy Tactics if you haven't. And Tactics Ogre, too. I haven't been able to play it properly, as I have way too much things to play, now, (been buying stuff without having enough time to play them, so now for the first time in my life I have too many things!) but I hear it's good.

I have Tactics but I keep getting killed by the one part with all the mages and archers so I need to level up everyone and get time mages and whatnot.

That first battle where you run into some other classes for the first time - what's it, Dorter? - is a doozy. Once you can get past it though you're in good shape for awhile though.

So you still have to beat Tactics! God, go and level up your party and get the battle done.

Do it. Nao.

You'll thank me later. :awesomonster:

Yeah I think that's the one so I'm grinding my black mages to turn into time mages so I can get those bishes to stop moving or something also it doesn't help I'm super anal with job classes and leveling up. Derp.

Two articles about Type-0!

http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/07/05/ff_type_0_update/

Bits copy and pasted:

  • The game will have 30 to 40 hours play time, or 100 hours for those who play fully.
  • Development is currently 80% complete.
  • We'll probably have to wait until Fall for the game (this was said with an apology, as the game was previously promised for Summer).
  • There will be a music tie-up.
  • The basics of the game outside of multiplayer are complete. They're currently working on the ad-hoc play component.
  • The game will have some fighting game style elements, like movement canceling.
  • The Type-0 version of Shiva is sexy.
  • You can hold down buttons to repeat moves rather than pressing the button repeatedly.
  • Button assignment includes: triangle for your character's standard attack, circle and square can be assigned to attacks and magic, X for defense and defensive magic, and L + d-pad to swap your character.
  • Square Enix is currently looking into the possibility of a download version
  • The game has 14 main characters. At one point during development, the figure was 40.
  • Similar to The 3rd Birthday, there will be Square Enix Members connectivity. You'll be able to see stats on character use and enemy kills amongst fellow members.

Copy and Pasted:

Sokuho@Hokanko has provided a full summary of Famitsu's latest Final Fantasy Type-0 interview and feature. The magazine spoke with Tetsuya Nomura and director Hajime Tabata this week.
As reported earlier, the big news is that the game probably won't be making its original summer release time period. Famitsu has removed "summer" from the release time period, now only listing it as 2011. During the interview, Tabata says that "due to various circumstances, it became difficult to release it during the short-sleeve shirt season." Nomura said that we'll probably have to wait until the season of red leaves. (Yes, the managed to avoid directly saying "Fall.")
Tabata provided one hint about the reason for the delay. The stoppage of the PlayStation Network service had some effect on the game's multiplayer component, making it require a bit extra time beyond the original plan. The development staff is currently working on this area of the game.
Tabata also shared a few additional details about the game's multiplayer component, which has remained in large part a mystery thus far. The host side will be able to turn multiplayer on or off in the game's config screen. If this is set to on, other players will be able to come into their game. To enter another player's game, you simply select multiplayer and select a host from a list of possible hosts.
The Type-0 multiplayer experience is purposefully short-lived. When you reach a save point, the external player is forced out from your game. There's also a time limit for multiplayer sessions, although the time can be extended by helping the host player.
You don't need to play the game in multiplayer. The game is being made so that anyone can reach the end even without cooperative play.
Nomura and Tabata also responded to a quick Q&A with the Famitsu editors. Among the revelations here:

  • For skilled action players, the game will have fighting game-like features like movement canceling.
  • The game's loading screen shows user data. This will also show the player data of Square Enix Members.
  • At save points, you can change your current party characters and also set your equipment.
  • The game's main characters are from your school's "Class Zero." Students from other classes will also team up with you for missions. They have different colored cloaks.
  • Nomura said that Square Enix is currently looking into a download version and overseas version of the game.
  • There will be weather-related changes. Weapons will change in strength and firing range depending on weather. Amongst summons, Shiva will be stronger in the snow.

But can we multiplayer properly and not ad hoc is my question here. This is sounding pretty cool though. I like the action-side of this.

Although lolque at "Shiva will be sexy." I mean, okay?

I do think so, Arianna. I would be REALLY surprised if they only release in in Japan. Maybe it will take some time for them to release it; but they will.

That is my opinion, though.

I hope so. I think it would be pretty bad for SE to keep the entire Fabula Nova Crystallis story from us.

I did hear something (via Final Fantasy Union): it was asked of SE at E3 if NA would get Type-0, and whoever responded said they have to see (something about the lack of support for the PSP - or something.)
