I REALLY hope that there would be tragic love story with Noct and Stella.
Nomura promised the story to be tragic but I hope that Noct`s friends wont die 8)
Just a good tragic love story pls (no soap opera (Vincent/Lucrecia), reuniting in death (Zack/Aeris) an live happily ever afret (Cloud/Tifa))
[/quote]

Uh...so you want it to be tragic, but they can't die, nor pick anyone else. So what's it supposed to be?

There`re other ways to make it tragic than just kill some character(s) ;)

I though Versus wasn't going to be a love story? I thought it was going to be about friendship.

But then again, I don't know much about it :monster:

Right, in some interview Nomura said that the theme of Versus would be `bonds` and friendship.

But looking at the latest trailer I have to say that it looks like there would be a love story for Stella and Noct.
And since Nomura confirmed that Versus is going to be a tragedy, and Stella and Noct look like unfortunate enemies, I guess there would be a tragic love story (too).

Or not. It could be they are just friends, ala Vaan/Ashe
More respect to them. I'm tired of these cheesy love stories. They stopped getting them right

I do hope there won't be any Romeo & Juliet-esque love story in this game. I do hope it would be really really tragic. I don't mind one of the friends or Stella dying TBH. :monster:

Most def no soap opera!
And I want to think that SE are smart enough not to spoil Versus with some tasteless lovestory.

I dont mind if Stella dies (though I like her charater already ::) ) but nt friends. Cant explain why 8)

Generally speaking, a tragedy where the main characters don't die is called a comedy.

With all the Shakespeare and Hamlet quotes being thrown around, hopefully the entire main cast will kick the bucket before it's over.

If there is a love story between Noct and Stella, I hope it's a little bit more...mature than say the relationship between Squall and Rinoa. The teenage angst between those two got annoying pretty quickly xD I mean I'm a sucker for love stories (especially tragic ones), but I'm hoping theirs is a little bit more...grown up/adult-like.

I do hope too that both Noct and Stella are no longer a teenagers in the story.
Considering that a large ammount of FF fans are in their 20`, 30`...
Im almost 24 myself and want some mature romance in the game (I dont neccesarily mean smex or that sort of thing, just like Stella said - no teenage angst, pls)

I agree no teenage angst please. I bet they're ages are between 16-20 though.I think the main focus of every new FF is to attract more fans to the series. Their demographic being the teenagers.

I hope it's strictly a friendship deal.

SE acts like a man and a woman cannot be friends without there being some soppy love story.

Fuck that.

There is a possibility (which I dont mind), however, by the looking at the latest trailer... maybe I just imagine things, but it looked like they`re in love (in that scene before they summon their weapons).

A good point, if it really is going to emulate Shakespeare, they're all screwed.

I kinda hope it doesn't. At first I was all in for everyone dying and stuff but now that I'm starting to like the characters I find myself hoping that the Hamletiness doesn't go as far as completely emulating the whole plot. I don't wanna be sad!... D':

As for Noctis and Stella... Since love was pretty much MIA in FFXII I'd really like to see a love story between them. I'm also fine with friendship so I don't really mind it either way, but I do miss the wub.

Somehow I doubt that Noct is going to die in the game.
What seems to be more tragic for me is the possibility for him to loose his friends or be betrayed.
There is a strong possibility also that he`s doomed to fight the girl he loves, Stella.
Doesnt it tragic enough? May sound too simple, but if the plot is done porperly the story could be really good and interesting.

I don't want the whole plot to be immitated, but I'll definitely be disappointed if a good portion of the cast isn't dead when everything is said and done. Talk about a cop out.

On a related note, I'm really hoping they tag Alexander O. Smith to do a "Ye Olde English" style localization with Versus. Anachronistic slang and theatrical performances juxtaposed with the modern setting would be really interesting, especially if the plot's as Shakespearean as we're being lead to believe.

Why not?
It's about time SE grows some ballz and stops sugarcoating everything. Sometimes shit happens and people die.
It's not like Noctis boy is going to be a cash cow, ala Cloud style, anyway.

I think SE is the last group you have to tell to stop sugarcoating everything.

Well I think FFXII was a good example of them staying true to that vein right there. Reks is crying in heaven right now, actually :monster:
