I wasn't excepting it to be super accurate, I think they did a great job. You can only do so much on a small budget. I think it conveyed the feel of the game accurately (I know my inner ffvii fan squeed) rather than the events, and I'm sure as a promo teaser that was the intention.

They're actually asking fans for their opinions and which Square Enix game fans think should be turned into a movie. Who knows if they'll listen, but hey!

hmmm i doubt that blog has much to do with SE, more of a community thing. Im sure if the legal department saw it they'd shut it down :P

It is also on their official FB page though. I'm also thinking maybe no one on SE's Japanese side of things has gotten wind of this yet, isn't it usually them that take more issue with this type of thing?

I'm just remembering that K-Pop song that ripped off both Fur Elise and the Tifa fight scene from Advent Children.

The K-Pop thing is completely different. Advent Children was ripped off for profit. That is not even the same ballpark.

Awww, the girl who is playing Tifa is so nice! She was posting on the Square Enix blog greeting people and offering more pictures. I like her! *^_^*

On Facebook though some people were being mean and calling her fugly saying she wasn't perfect/totally hot like Tifa basically :(

I think there is a danger of this, for Aerith as well, for some people to be disappointed the movie doesn't match their fantasies. Which is a shame because sometime's things are all the better for not being "perfect", with perfection being kinda impossible anyway.

I like the fact that Aerith looks like an ordinary pretty girl and not a Hollywood movie star.

It's the reason Aerith was all the more appealing in game as well. I mean I'm not saying Aerith and Tifa weren't beautiful in game though but their beauty was very natural. A sense of prettiness like ... well these voice actors. I like it!

I believed your point was that some random koreans ripped off AC to make cash and SE shut them down, and you had hoped that this wouldnt be shut down because it was non profit.

My point was that CT got shut down despite being non profit as well o.O

Well no, I was just clarifying that the whole AC thing can't really be applied regardless of whether or not this fan film gets shut down.
