Soon we're gonna launch a worldwide Kickstarter campaign to cover the production costs of our Teaser. Now keep calm and brace yourself cause in case we exceed the goal and get enough money we'll definitely work on the full lenght movie or just a single chapter of it depending on the funds raised!

I call that their Kickstarter will be shut down, despite this officially being just about covering the teaser production. =/

This is most likely true. They were fortunate to find a fitting location for Aerith's church but for many other areas they'd have to resort to computer graphics. With this the scale of the production would increase immensely, probably way beyond the Mega Man fan film I linked to earlier.

Edit: Speaking of locations for filming, reminds me of these classics.

All the actors who have roles in it are named and shown on the Facebook page for the fan project.

No one is credited as being Cloud's hand that I could see, though.

Probably just had some random person there with a glove.

It looked like a girl hand anyway.
