Yeah, I'm not really fond of Serah as a main character tbh. Everything about her screams side character especially since she was just the damsel in distress in the first one. A sudden upgrade to main character isn't very believable to me.
And Noel is like.

Dunno, just no fucks given about him and shit.

So the fact it focuses heavily on those two is pretty meh. =/

There are suppose to be guest characters sometimes.

Honestly I'd rather have just more permanent party members. Apparently the monster thing was to help encourage more customization, but I did fine with six.

I hope they do. 'twas the only bad thing about him.

Sazh's fro could have its own game and it would okay.

Actually Hope annoyed me at first, but he grew a bit. And Snow... I'm not bothered by the whole "I'm gonna be a hero" thing, to be honest. It's silly, but it's "just a game", so I'm fine with it.

Couldn't have said so better myself. It is, and is boring....IMO. I just don't see how recruiting monsters is any fun at all. When I play a game I love how to see the story develop. I love character interactions and how they grow by side as times go by. But...Monsters? No thanks....Maybe they'll make it work, maybe they won't but that doesn't really enthusiasm myself in going crazy for the game. If it wasn't for Serah and the re-appearance of Sazh and Hope (Because the sis goes missing story is kind of bleh to me) IDK if I could handle the fact that I already paid for this.
TBH I got more excited by the news of FFX for PS3 than when I knew there was a sequel to this game....and its oncoming news.

I wouldn't place the monsters of FF as 'lifeless'. I haven't seen much details as to what kind of monsters can be brought into play but I think we should give them a shot. From what I can see and understand in some scenes and shots, most of the XIII cast are reduced to NPCs like the cast of X during X-2.

Mai Fukui will sing "Yakusoku no Basho", the English version "New World" will be performed by Charice.
The Japanese song will be exclusively for the Jap. PS3 version while the English one is for the Jap. Xbox360 and international versions.

The single Yakusoku no Basho will be available as standard and limited edition, the latter one includes a bonus DVD as well as a code for unlocking shit in the game.
Release is Nov. 23rd.
New World will be on Charice's new album "Infinity", available on October 5th in Japan.
