Oh yeah. And all of that whining about the blu-rays and how HD-DVD was gonna be the new format. I remember. Still, I got both the 360 and a PS3 just in case.

Of course, now I'm considering getting this new one just for the look... maybe I could get someone to paint my PS# instead though. Probably cheaper.

Thinking about it... but my PS3 plays PS2 games, and apparently that is now quite rare. Maybe I'll just buy a new PS3. Yeah, it's an extra paycheck, but it looks cool.

My financial prowess is nill, but I agree with everyone else: sell off your first PS3 and then buy the Cloud Black model. It would be a waste (and I would think, actually a downgrade) to buy first and keep the other one. Honestly, I do hope you'll take everyone's opinion on this matter to heart.

Since this is the case with the PS3s (that they do not backtrack well or at all for games of earlier models), I may just keep my PS2 and pay up for the PS3 when I have the funds for it. I've thought of giving it away towards the purchase price of a PS3, but - why? When I know I'll want to play my PSX and PS2 games in the future. I just think that keeping my hardware is more logical.

I would so love to jump on this, but I cannot. I just do not have the money, and do not foresee the funds by the time the system is available. WAH! :'( (Yeah, I know, poor, poor me. )

Like I just said, it was on topic I'm not talking about how he needs to save his money, in fact I have only made one post which advised him what to do with his money. In all posts since them I've been complaining about the concept of selling your PS2-disc playing PS3 in favour of one that doesn't just because it looks slightly cooler, which I personally think is a waste. Since this is a concept relating to the PS3 and I'm not addressing the original poster about his own finances surely this is about as on topic as you can get?

Oh no I was one of those and I made a token post, but since then I was talking about the concept itself and not the user nor his money, continuing on with that would have been off topic. But I was not and my displeasure with the concept was directly to do with my opinion of the PS3 being an aesthetically pleasing waste and not the user himself, which imo constitutes it being on topic - even if it's in a negative light.

I could understand purchasing the PS3 if it had new or upgraded features other than moar GBs. But, putting a wolf emblem on the PS3 is obviously just a ploy to increase sales for Sony considering the PS3's dwindling numbers in the market, while also advertising FFXIII. Which of course has nothing to do with film itself.

I understood the limited edition Crisis Core PSP since Crisis Core was in fact a PSP game. But, using the PS3 in this manner is just weak, and thus I'm compelled to giggle at this concept.

If you really get to the point of wanting one...just like...buy the PS3 Skin...so you don't have to waste money on buying another. They sell FFVII Skins all over the place I think. I know I've seen some before.

please. The Middle east customizes the PS3 in one or many more ways. Hell, they even used the PSP's God of War concept too.

Buying a wolf emblem on a PS3 with no PS2 compatibility and selling one with such customizations is indeed the actions of a retard.

On that, is Sony finally going to do something about its console? like, a new, small, half-price version?

Also, I'm fairly sure it wouldn't be too difficult to stamp on a sticker or whatnot to get a similar result as the special edishun PS3.

Dunno. With all the hardware used in the PS3, I'm not sure if they can make it any smaller. They probably could, but I'm sure you'll loose a good amount of features.

As with all electronics and recent American elections: Yes They Can. Electronics and chips become smaller both due to improved (and smaller) production techniques and due to integrating multiple chips into one single chip, as Intel will be doing with one of their next generation of processors (aimed specifically at netbooks and whatnot), and electronics can be simplified and reduced in size as the development goes on.

The Cell, GPU and Blu-ray drive were probably the newest features in the PS3, and all those have had a few years of development by now, so the entire package could probably be reduced in size by now as well.
