Interesting thing about Cid looking...older. haha. SE really outdid themselves going over the details.
I liked that they put the Cloud scream over the FF7 footage of him screaming, pretty cool.
Also interesting that they cut Cissnei out of the Zack convos on the run and kept bouncing back and forth between him talking and the text of the BC Player
Heartily agreed. After seeing everything unfold from start to finish, that scene -- blocky polygonal figures or not -- was especially heartwrenching.
Steve Burton gives his best Cloud performance right here. He absolutely nails it, as Cloud speaks as though he's talking to a child, but still very sincere. Methinks Burton naysayers will have a hard time complaining about this one.

I had absolutely no problem with Steve Burton VA-ing as Cloud in AC, but I did have a problem with them VA-ing teenage Cloud in CC because Cloud was what 14-16 years old, he wouldn't have sounded like that and I thought they needed to get someone teenagery-ish to play him in CC.
Just finished it.
I think ACC is a better stand alone movie than AC. We get a better feel for Cloud's issues here than in the previous iteration. Greater involvement of the family in his story throughout, which is extremely nice, and greater emphasis on their importance to him. The exchange between Cloud and Marlene was very sweet.
The fight between Cloud and Sephiroth was very brutal. Cloud was sliced, diced, and generally put through the wringer kicking and screaming, but this also resulted in his victory being much sweeter.
It does feel like they've changed the tone of Cloud's development, though, from seeking forgiveness to becoming a hero and protecting those dear to him. The ending bit with Cloud and Denzel made it seem like he's imparting this desire to become a protector to Denzel, too.
On a random note, nice to see the Buster sword all shiny again. It looked pretty pathetic earlier on when it was covered in rust.
