Yeah, thanks ForceStealer, you've taken a lot of time and devoted a lot of attention to us poor, slow, or patient folk.

Your write ups really make the movie sound like a fantastic leap above the original release of Advent Children. Looking forward to seeing it myself.

Thanks, the fact that I even typed that all up is evidence of how stoked I was I about it, lol.

And where's Mako? Haven't heard his opinion yet.

About the limit breaks when Cloud does Omnislash (ver 1) there are a total of 13 hits, & it's the only limit break where his whole body & not just his sword are wreathed in blue flames.

In addition to that, after this limit break fails, and Sephiroth tosses Cloud into the air & Sephiroth his 8 strike limit break from Crisis Core - that's what gets Cloud all mutilated.

Cloud's Omnislash Version 6 has the first 6 of his hits leave an afterimage of Cloud with a sword as he turns away. Then when all 6 afterimages are surrounding Sephiroth, with Cloud above them, as he rushes down, the 6 afterimages all rush in lightning-quick & attack Sephiroth, with Cloud delivering the final blow. You can see the afterimages land & plant the swords around Cloud.

I'm mildly interested in the fact that we're seeing more and more Omnislash versions. Makes me feel like I've got the short end of the stick playing Dissidia now. : P

So there are 13 hits? You sure there aren't two more hits in there you just missed? :wackymonster:

But okay. I concede. It really, REALLY looks like Cloud tried to use Omnislash on Sephiroth but Sephiroth was just too fucking strong, and counter attacked with Octoslash.

Which makes a helluva lot of sense and makes their fight even cooler. Because then it shows and necessitates the need for Omnislash V. 6 and makes Cloud victory even more badass and believable :bigmonster:

My disk just arrived! :D

I haven't watched the movie yet, but I did view the Turbulence and Reminiscences features. Turbulence of FFVII looks to be a very quick thing about the popularity of the FF franchise while paying special attention to FFVII and the compilation.

Reminiscence of FFVII is unchanged, from what I can remember of this feature from the AC disk.

Reminiscence of the FFVII Compilation fills in some more details. There's more focus on the events that happened before and after the original game. This Compilation Reminiscence uses footage from BC, CC, DC, and some relevant parts from the original FFVII. There's a tonne of amazing Zack stuff in here.

I liked that they put the Cloud scream over the FF7 footage of him screaming, pretty cool.

Also interesting that they cut Cissnei out of the Zack convos on the run and kept bouncing back and forth between him talking and the text of the BC Player

Heartily agreed. After seeing everything unfold from start to finish, that scene -- blocky polygonal figures or not -- was especially heartwrenching.

Yeah. I thought that was a bit strange.

Absolutely.

And yeah te Cissnei thing was a little strange. I know that Cissnei WAS the stand-in for the BC Turk, but they show her elsewhere in the Reminiscence, so why cut her there?

They cut Cissnei?
D8 I liked her. She's always confused me, though...how she just disappears after CC, and we never know her real name. That's off topic, though...
Wonder if the US version will have all the bonus features?

Probably, just subbed. Though that BC text scrolls rather fast.

And they didn't cut her completely, only her conversations with Zack while he's on the run, that's what's odd.

The reason we never learn her real name is because she's the Turk from Before Crisis, who has no default name, the player names her(/him)

I'm just looking forward to the additional scenes. And moar blood. But mostly the additional Zack scenes. :awesome:

Clack is canon. ACC proves it. I'm willing to debate after I've watched ACC :awesomonster:

Do you know how many fangasms I just had in the last two minutes:awesome:!? Awesome description, In can't wait to get it on Friday, which reminds me I better check its shipping status.

Anyway,

Steve Burton gives his best Cloud performance right here. He absolutely nails it, as Cloud speaks as though he's talking to a child, but still very sincere. Methinks Burton naysayers will have a hard time complaining about this one.

I had absolutely no problem with Steve Burton VA-ing as Cloud in AC, but I did have a problem with them VA-ing teenage Cloud in CC because Cloud was what 14-16 years old, he wouldn't have sounded like that and I thought they needed to get someone teenagery-ish to play him in CC.

Also, people are bitchin' Mena lady playing Aerith in CC; I have to agree. After listening to CC Aerith, I think AC Aerith needed to show a little more hyper, cheerfulness in her tone of voice. Mena sounded more like an older mother (even if Aerith is a maternal figure, she doesn't need to sound that old).

Anyway, thank you again for the review and details, and has anyone seen anything on youtube about ACC besides the trailers and whatnot?

And Cthulhu, I could do it, but do you want the spoiler on the front page?

Yes, damn right I do :monster:. Just make sure to do the list behind the 'read more' section, and add an obvious note of spoilers in the intro.

Also, try to make the intro long enough to properly fill up the front page, one good paragraph should be the minimum. Make some notes on some inconsistencies and whatnot in the old version (such as Cloud suddenly going oVER NINE THOUSAAAND in the final battle and it not making much sense for him to suddenly become uber pwnage).

I'm going to read the rest of this thread now, brb.

Edit: back. Excellent description of changes, just found one spelling error in my read-through. Post it on the frontpage when there's some good imagery available - I think Mako was going to do some screens for us.

I should ask my mom, but I'm pretty sure my voice was all manly and whatnot when I was 14-16 years old, :monster:. Teenagers get that.

That's true, my voice changed around 12/13. By 14-16 I definitely had the same voice that I have now (at 21, Cloud's FF7 age)

Just finished it.

I think ACC is a better stand alone movie than AC. We get a better feel for Cloud's issues here than in the previous iteration. Greater involvement of the family in his story throughout, which is extremely nice, and greater emphasis on their importance to him. The exchange between Cloud and Marlene was very sweet.

The fight between Cloud and Sephiroth was very brutal. Cloud was sliced, diced, and generally put through the wringer kicking and screaming, but this also resulted in his victory being much sweeter.

It does feel like they've changed the tone of Cloud's development, though, from seeking forgiveness to becoming a hero and protecting those dear to him. The ending bit with Cloud and Denzel made it seem like he's imparting this desire to become a protector to Denzel, too.

On a random note, nice to see the Buster sword all shiny again. It looked pretty pathetic earlier on when it was covered in rust.
