Okay tifa and lightning is good, but it isn't canon. It doesn't even make sense. Tifa wears red, which means she's the hero, but lightning wears pink which is also a form of red, which also makes her a hero and two heros can't be together. But Aerith wears pink (the same shade as lightnings hair) which cancels out it being red, and since Aerith is referred to as a princess (princess guard) and light is a soldier, it makes sense that light is her protector and plus in the opening there are pink flower petals around light which means aerith was with her in spirit. also if you preorder the game theres a scene where light fades away into the flower fields with aerith, i should know i ordered it yesterday. but they said its limited time only and so if you try doing it now you won't get to see it so i guess i got lucky.

Logically though, the red/hero thing doesn't make much sense either. If such pairings couldn't work, Cloud/Tifa wouldn't make sense. Being a hero doesn't necessarily have a regard at all on one's personality. If it did, a party would be full of lead types.

Let's not forget Aerith saved the planet in the very end, thus, making her a canonical HERO.
