I can live with a little product placement as long as it's discreet and unobtrusive. From what I've played of FFXV, they seemed to do well following that idea. Sure, you saw the Coleman plates and such at camp, but nobody said anything about them and there were no scenes dedicated to pointing them out. They were just there, in the background, which is fine. I can't stand the I, Robot approach with its blatant advertising. Much as Lister can't stand Cup Noodles, hehe. Any Dwarfers here, btw?

Well it went to the other extreme, completely tongue-in-cheek, for the cup noodles angle. Which honestly I found very amusing. That doesn't mean it's something I want to happen regularly, but for what it was, I enjoyed the self-awareness. And, as I say, it did fit the vibe XV was going for more than it would any of the others.

I had just remembered the scene where Cloud is in a wheelchair and Tifa stays beside him to help. For some reason, that turned out to be the most emotional moment for me in the game. I had already felt bad enough seeing blocky, LEGO looking Cloud in a wheelchair. I don't even want to know how awful I'll feel seeing a realistic looking Cloud in that scenario...

I've seen some people laugh at this scene (because of the outdated graphics) and it breaks my heart.
Also I plan to draw this scene soon, I'm gonna cry into my tablet : /

I agree, a realistic rendition of the event would be a strong gut-punch. More than seeing Cloud wheelchair-bound, it's really seeing him into a vegetative state that would be blood-chilling, IMO. You thought your hero was a badass, but now he needs to be fed through a tube and have someone take care of his diapers *shudders*

In the OG, wasn't Marlene left to tend to the 7th Heaven bar all by herself before the Sector 5 bombing run? Wonder if little goofy stuff like this will still work now that the game isn't so cartoonish in style.

^ Well I guess there has to be a device which gets Marlene alone so that Aerith can send her to Elmyra’s house. Maybe some other NPCs support Marlene with running the bar to make it more believable, but they run off/die in the general bedlam of platefall.

The Sector 5 raid happens in the middle of the day anyway. That's not really when most bars are open.

Johnny was leaving home during this part of the original game. It's why he ends up surviving the plate fall.

In case they are holding up how the OG's order of events transpire, than yes, you're right! But especially when it comes to the plate fall scenario, I think it'll play out differently... lets say it's a hunch (this isn't meant to be come off as half assed, or disrespectful).

The issue is competence rather than impropriety. What’s the difference between alcohol and caffeine? Kids can’t make highballs nor lattes. Naw, they locked up the doors and she was playing make believe with the shaker.

It's also very probably the culture of this society doesn't have all of the same norms and faux pas of ours. Their nervous system may even operate in a different manner to ours, making it so drunks are incredibly rare.

Pretty sure there were lots of drunk ppl in the OG. Also, it’s bad form to change the nature/habits/physiology of humans in a fantasy setting unless it‘s directly related to the main story. It’s kind of like, why?
